[LLVMdev] configure with clang vs gcc
I need to leave soon and will take a look in the morning. I did look at the autoconf input files configure.ac There is a disable-zlib but not a disable-valgrind, even though it seems like there used to be. You can find scripts on the internet when you google of people adding disable-valgrind to configure. I can probably implement disable-valgrind in configure.ac. Reed On 02/24/2014 04:33

[LLVMdev] configure with clang vs gcc
I'm trying to build a native hosted mips compiler on ubuntu x86. When I run configure with clang/llvm as the compiler, configure thinks that zlib is present and that valgrind is. But later on the make it cannot find zlib.h. If I tell it to not do compression, then it does not look for zlib.h but dies looking for valgrind, even if I tell it to disable-valgrind. If I configure using

[LLVMdev] make check issue with llvm-cov

The mips entry here is just > wrong if the system is little-endian - the test passes on little-endian machines > and fails on big-endian. This is obviously a problem. 'XFAIL: mips' counts as an XFAIL for all mips targets

[LLVMdev] make check issue with llvm-cov
If you can help get it working on big-endian systems, we should be able to remove the XFAIL. That seems like the cleanest way out of this. Yuchen sent a patch to llvm-commits on 12/19/13. (I can resend it to you if you don’t have that.) Can you try that out on a BE mips system? On Feb 21, 2014, at 7:11 AM, Reed Kotler <Reed.Kotler at imgtec.com> wrote: > On 02/21/2014 02:58 AM, Daniel

In that case it tries to do something but fails. rkotler at ubuntu-rkotler:~/testmips16$ /home/rkotler/llvmw/install/bin/bugpoint casts.bc -llc-safe --safe-tool-args -target=mips-linux-gnu -mcpu=mips16 -mips16-constant-islands Read input file : 'casts.bc' *** All input ok Initializing execution environment: Found llc: /home/rkotler/llvmw/install/bin/llc Running the code

[LLVMdev] tools build issue with lnt in cross platform testing
The issues seems to be this line in the tools Makefile timeit-target: timeit.c $(LD_ENV_OVERRIDES) $(LCC) -o $@ $< $(LDFLAGS) $(CFLAGS) $(TARGET_FLAGS) -O3 It should not add target flags if we are simulating the target on the host. [LLVMdev] tools build issue with lnt in cross platform testing
I want to get lnt to use qemu for the execution. In that case, RHOST= is not set. But I change the Arch because I am going to run in cross mode. Then I'm setting RUNUNDER to be a script which runs qemu. In this case it builds timeit-target as a Mips which fails because this is running on x86. ~/mysandbox/bin/lnt runtest nt --sandbox ~/mysandbox --cc /local/llvmpb_a/install/bin/clang

[LLVMdev] Generate Executable to Mips
There is also: 1) an alternate clang driver at http://code.google.com/p/alternate-clang-driver/ . This makes it more or less gcc compatible. 2) there is a way to invoke it all directly with just a call to clang as is with x86/linux but it's not totally finished. i will try and post something about this. the direct form will work if you are on a mips linux machine but there are still some

I use the 'make TEST=simple' as a pre-commit test. I think that everybody should run these tests before committing to LLVM. [LLVMdev] floor
I'm getting some problems because it seems that the compiler is treating "floor" differently from other math library functions like "sin". The Args and RetVal have the parameter and return types marked as void. For mips16, it's important that I be able to know the original signature for floating point functions. In some cases, need to create calls to helper
