[LLVMdev] debugging llvm from clang using gdb
Are you debugging the driver process or the -cc1 process? To get the -cc1 process, unfortunately you have to go through the dance of passing -### to get the -cc1 line and then run that in gdb (or write one manually). Alternatively in gdb you can say "set follow-fork child" (or something, check the docs) to automatically follow into the -cc1 child. On Tue, May 21, 2013 at 8:00 AM,

[LLVMdev] dot release for 3.4
We are starting to move to using llvm/clang x86 as the starting point for mips native compilers. It's important to make sure that gcc cross compilers can do this too but sometimes there are issues there; especially now as c++11 is moving into the foreground. We are working to also make sure this works. As 3.5 llvm is probably around the corner; our use of clang/llvm for this starting

[LLVMdev] eclipse and gdb
Is anyone using Eclipse and gdb to debug llvm/clang? If so, which version of Eclipse, gdb and linux flavor. I just use gdb currently. I'm going to try using my mac also. Is anyone using xcode/lldb to debug llvm/clang? Tia. Reed

[LLVMdev] eclipse and gdb
Hi Reed, I’ve used Eclipse for a long time to do LLVM development on Linux (both for code navigation/editing and debugging), any recent Linux distribution and version of Eclipse should be fine (even older versions should be good enough as this has been working for many years). Xcode works fine as well, I started to use Xcode exclusively when I switched to OS X. The key to make this work is to

[LLVMdev] make check for clang/llvm
I have a test that will only fail if I run clang and not if I run llc by itself but it's an llc issue. Where would I put such a test? Are there similar tests in the "make check" or "make check-all" suite? Tia. Reed

I see what my problem is here.... I'll continue to move further. Seems like Richards fix is still okay. [LLVMdev] llvm builtins
In the following example with gcc style builtins, in once case llvm.powi.f64 is emitted and in the other just a call to library function powf. ~/llvm/build/Debug+Asserts/bin/clang -S -emit-llvm pow1.c Why is that? Is there a way to force the call to an llvm style builtin? Tia. Reed -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: pow1.c Type: text/x-csrc

The lessening requires enlisting people that are willing to do this as opposed to doing fun science like cool optimization. If you can't make an executable test from C or C++ code then how do you know something works. Just by examination of the .s?
