[GSOC 2018] Implement a single updater class for Dominators
Hi Kuba, Thanks for your advice in your previous letter. During last week, I have read the documents on Doxygen and the source code of the DomTreeBase/DomTree/PostDomTree/DeferredDominance class, I believe now I have a much better understanding on the relationship between these classes and how DeferredDominance class performs lazy updates. I have also learnt the current usage and drawbacks of

[GSOC 2018] Implement a single updater class for Dominators
Hi Chijun, Great, seems like you did a lot of progress and understand the issues quite well! I have done some early sketch on the API of the new updater class. > From my current understanding, to solve the fragmentation problem of > the API, the new class first, need to maintain the DomTree and > PostDomTree class and deprecate the DefferredDominance class. > There are a couple of

[GSOC 2018] Implement a single updater class for Dominators
Hi Chijun, I left you my feedback in the doc (+ some nitpicks). Overall, it looks very solid and shows you understand the problem well and know what to expect. Your proposed timeline is reasonable and I don't see any major things to improve there. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions related to my comments (either here or in the document). Thanks, Kuba On Wed, Mar 21,

[GSOC 2018] Implement a single updater class for Dominators
Hi Kuba, Thanks for your clarification on the project in the previous letter. I have submitted a proposal draft at the GSoC website, the draft has been shared with the LLVM organization. I will appreciate it if you can give me some advice on the proposal. This draft can be viewed by the organization. (If you do not have access, please mail me, and I will give you the link.) I am looking forward

Hi Kuba, Thanks for your feedback. I have made some improvements on the proposal according to your feedback and clarify something on the time availability. I left comments on the questions you asked in the doc. Please check it out. [LLVMdev] Request to review patch for bug #14792
http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=14792 Problem: In the i386 ABI Page 3-10, it said that the stack is aligned. However, the two example code show that does not handle the alignment correctly when using variadic function. For example, if the size of the first argument is 17, the overflow_arg_area in va_list will be set to "address of first argument + 16" instead of "address of

shlib problems with Intel compiler
Hi, I'm encountering trouble compiling caTools_1.17.1.tar.gz and e1071_1.6-4.tar.gz on a Linux system using the Intel compiler suite. 14 other packages I generally use installed without any trouble. I notice both of these trouble packages have a C++ component, so I wonder if that might be the issue. Below, there's information on my platform, compiler, and some diagnostic output showing

shlib problems with Intel compiler
Hi Martyn, Thanks for your insight, that seems pretty direct. Unfortunately, I did not compile this version of R (it's on a large supercomputer system and this version of R was installed by the admins). Using "R CMD config", I see the following relevant settings: DYLIB_LD = icc -std=gnu99 DYLIB_LDFLAGS = -shared -openmp LDFLAGS = -L/opt/compilers/intel/cce/9.1.039/lib

[LLVMdev] Configuring for cross-compilation doesn't work
Let me add that when not specifying the '--host' option, the whole thing fails as well: ../llvm/configure CXX=icpc CC=icc CXXFLAGS="-O3 -mmic" CFLAGS="-O3 -mmic" checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out checking whether the C compiler works... configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs. If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'. Frank

"==" gives incorrect answers! (PR#6691)
Full_Name: Dong-Yun Kim Version: 1.7.0/1.8.1 OS: WinMe/WinXP Submission from: (NULL) (4.33.147.192) Hi all, It appears that R has a problem with evaluating logical "==" operator. The following are a few examples I found: > 2.1+0.2==2.3 [1] FALSE > 2.7+0.1==2.8 [1] FALSE > 2.7+0.2==2.9 [1] FALSE > 3.1+0.2==3.3 [1] FALSE Thanks. Dong-Yun Kim

[LLVMdev] Configuring for cross-compilation doesn't work
Hi, I am trying to build LLVM 3.4 RC1 with the Intel compiler targeting the Xeon Phi (native). In order to skip the building and execution of a test binary during configuration one needs the set the "-host" option indicating a cross compilation. Intel suggests to use "x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu". However, either using "x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu" or something

Finishing up the contributors list as well
Guys, OK, now that we have the new core contributors squared away, we can go back to finishing the contributors list. There were some people who got added and then there is existing contributors list. I think Darren''s suggestion to wait to add new core contributors is fine (let the new constitution settle down and we can in the meanwhile have a more inclusive look at both rather than

memory problem for R
Hi, I try to use lm to fit a linear model with 600k rows and 70 attributes. But I can't even load the data into the R environment. The error message says the vector memory is used up. Is there anyone having experience with large datasets in R? (I bet) Please advise. thanks, Yun-Fang [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
