[LLVMdev] LLVM seg fault : dereference an uninitialized pointer Instruction*
Hello everyone, I encounter a segfault problem in my LLVM function pass. I think the problem is that I dereference an uninitialized pointer from an array of Instruction* elements which results in undefined behavior. The array is : Instruction** ifsInstrArray = new Instruction*[100]; The problem appears only sometimes (during runOnFunction && visiting BasicBlocks and Instructions).

[LLVMdev] LLVM Instruction to ICmpInst conversion
Hello ! I want some piece of advice regarding a LLVM pass. My particular problem is: There is a method bool patternDC::runOnFunction(Function &F) { ... if ( CC->operEquiv(icmpInstrArray[i], icmpInstrArray[j]) ) {...} ... } having the array elements of type Instruction* : http://llvm.org/doxygen/classllvm_1_1Instruction.html The called method is bool

[LLVMdev] BasicBlock back()
Hello, I am a beginner of LLVM. I am trying to move among the instructions of a BasicBlock and I cannot. In this particular example, I try to get the previous instruction of the end instruction. I am trying 2 methods: 1. I have the following sequence of code: bool patternDC::runOnBasicBlock(BasicBlock &BB) { ... if (BB.getTerminator()) { Instruction* current =

[LLVMdev] LLVM getBasicBlockIndex() or equivalent
Hello everyone ! I have some problems of getting the index of a basic block. for (Function::iterator II = F.begin(), EE = F.end(); II != EE; ++II, ++ii) { BasicBlock* BB=II; I have segfaults or cannot use complex structures of several methods that I found in LLVM. Do you know how to use as simply as possible the methods found at : http://llvm.org/doxygen/Instructions_8h_source.html#l02136

[LLVMdev] Assertion `castIsValid(getOpcode(), S, Ty) && "Illegal BitCast"' faile
ok.. you are right. I had not inserted the AllocaInst in the function. [LLVMdev] Assertion `castIsValid(getOpcode(), S, Ty) && "Illegal BitCast"' failed.
ok.. So I am trying out what you have suggested. I have written the below code which basically tries to write the constant 10 to a file. myprint is a function pointer to a function which takes char * parameter and writes it to file. Value *Ten = ConstantInt::get(Type::Int32Ty, 10); const Type *VoidPtrTy = PointerType::getUnqual(Type::Int8Ty); AllocaInst *AI = new AllocaInst(Type::Int32Ty); Value

[LLVMdev] assert in InnerLoopVectorizer::createEmptyLoop
I am seeing an assert when I compile the attached program with clang: $ clang -fno-strict-aliasing -target mips64el-unknown-linux -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -S test1.c -o test1.ll -emit-llvm It asserts when LoopVectorize.cpp:506 is executed. It looks like it is complaining because it is trying to zero-extend an i64 (type Count->getType() returns i64) to an i32 (IdxTy). if (Count->getType()

[LLVMdev] llvm get annotations
Hi, I solved it. From the ConstantStruct you can call getOperand() multiple times, so "mine" as deep as you can. [LLVMdev] CFG of a function
I don't use a function for do the mapping, it may be MapValue(). If it does not work, alias an int identifier for each basic block. Be aware because basic block cannot have the same name (getName) in the same function, but they might have the same name being in different functions. Therefore, take into account the function name as well. Good luck On Thu, Jun 6, 2013 at 10:55 AM, Rasha Omar

[LLVMdev] CFG of a function
Hi Rasha, First, you should not erase that cloned function XD the idea is that your pass should create that new function, add it to a module (that could be the same one where the original function is, or another one that you could be creating if that is the case), and then just let it be: the pass manager should identify this new function (after your pass returned) and all the other analysis and
