[LLVMdev] [llvm] r195903 - AArch64: Fix a bug about disassembling post-index load single element to 4 vectors
I"m getting build errors I think from one of your patches O tjoml. You need to have a build area that builds with clang and does warnings as errors to avoid these issues on putback. here is my configure step for example: /home/rkotler/llvm_trunk/configure --enable-werror --prefix=/home/rkotler/ll vm/install CC=/home/rkotler/llvm_3_2/install/bin/clang CXX=/home/rkotler/llvm_3_

[LLVMdev] symbols for exception handling
I thought of a simpler way to do this which is no more of a hack than the way labels are noramally output. Create an EmitDebugLabel and then in MCAsminfo, add another variable for the suffix for debug labels which can by default be just ":". Then for Mips I can change it to "=." [LLVMdev] symbols for exception handling
mips16 has some unusual requirements for label symbols in .s. I think that arm thumb has the same issue but have not located yet how this is handled. When you have a label of an instruction in mips16, when you reference the label, the linker adds a 1 to the address. When you call an odd numbered address, the procesor switches to mips16 mode and when you call an even numbered address it

I'm still seeing this problem. is test-suite being run still by itself (independent of llvm)? if so, are there public build bots for this? is lnt going to replace test-suite as the normal mechanism for running test-suite? Tia. Reed

[LLVMdev] failures in test-suite for make TEST=simple
when I create the report, there are no failures in it. so maybe these are being filtered for known failures. [LLVMdev] failures in test-suite for make TEST=simple
I use the 'make TEST=simple' as a pre-commit test. I think that everybody should run these tests before committing to LLVM. I'm working on a patch for this problem for mips16; unfortunately it's a target independent patch. I'm not sure the best nomenclature for this. In the gcc mips16 patch they call "xxx=." a debug label. The other terminology they use is byte pointer vs ISA-encoded address (ISA-encoded meaning this one bit in the case of mips16 ISA). I'm planning to add a virtual method

[LLVMdev] test-suite
I'm trying to run test-suite for x86 in order to verify a target independent patch before I put it back. The patch has been approved. What is the best way to run it in order to get maximum coverage and have results where I can tell that I have not regressed anything (as well as the test-suite can help with that)? I've already tested it against the Mips compiler but we have a slightly

[LLVMdev] test-suite failures
We have a modified version of projects/test-suite that we can run cross using Qemu. We would like to put that back so that other people can test MIPS before putting back. Well, this would be easily modifiable for ARM and other targets that are supported by QEMU. But in this case, we would need to check in a version of QEMU and also the needed pieces of a MIPS tool chain for assembly,

[LLVMdev] failures in test-suite for make TEST=simple
I forgot to mention that you can also run "make TEST=simple report" which will generate a nice report. Do you know why these tests fail ? You can step into the test directory and run 'make TEST=simple' from there. It will save you some time. [LLVMdev] using just llvm/clang for building mips llvm
In case anyone is interested.... We don't need to compile llvm/clang using gcc anymore for the building of mips hosted llvm compilers. We build a linux mips hosted compiler starting with llvm/clang on x86 linux using the normal configure scripts and then can use that resulting compiler to build further llvm/clang native compilers on the mips linux host. The cross compiler and native
