[LLVMdev] Runtime exception in DominatorTree.getRootNode()
Hi all, I am trying to traverse a dominator tree and have encountered a weird runtime exception: Here's my simple code: virtual bool runOnFunction(Function &F) { DominatorTree& DT = getAnalysis<DominatorTree>(); * DomTreeNode* rootNode = DT.getRootNode();* return false. } Here's the documentation page:

[LLVMdev] llc debug info
I can generate debug info using opt like this: opt < a.bc > /dev/null -mypass -debug But I don't know how to do it using llc. I check http://llvm.org/docs/CommandGuide/llc.html there are not any information about debug flags. Purpose EX: I want to print all the DEBUG(dbgs()......) in llvm/lib/CodeGen/RegAllocGreedy.cpp . What should I do? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

[LLVMdev] Runtime exception in DominatorTree.getRootNode()
Thanks for your reply, John. I am using opt to run my pass. Should opt by default link in the library? Would you please give me some idea on fixing it? Thanks! opt -load ../../../Debug+Asserts/lib/LLVMHello.dylib -hello < hello.bc > /dev/null My pass is just: #include "llvm/IR/Function.h" #include "llvm/Pass.h" #include "llvm/Support/raw_ostream.h" #include

Thanks! Odd. I would think that opt would have that pass linked in statically. I'm not sure why it's not working. Does anyone else have an idea? -- John T. > > opt -load

[LLVMdev] Runtime exception in DominatorTree.getRootNode()
Hi Weibo, I thought would be more efficient discussing here (I just saw that every info was replicated on both emails you were sending to me). I just run your example here on my working machine, and I didn't have any issues with the namespace. Just tell me one thing: which line (and flags) are you using when configuring and make your build llvm directory? Oh, and one more thing: what is on

[LLVMdev] Basic doubt related to Module::iterator
Hi, Yeah I found that it is running LLVM's functions. The functions that are running are: main llvm.dbg.func.start llvm.dbg.stoppoint scanf llvm.dbg.region.end But I dont want all the functions to be called as I am using Dominator Trees and whenever I the statement DominatorTree &DT = getAnalysis<DominatorTree>(F); is encountered by functions other than main, it gives error.

[LLVMdev] Analysis Passes
I'd like to write a pass that does both: implements a code transformation *and *saves information that can be accessed by subsequent passes. If such a pass is not an Analysis pass and that therefore subsequent passes are not supposed to use getAnalysis() to extract the information from that pass... what is the right way to do this? Right now I am using getAnalysis to get the information from

[LLVMdev] Another Pass Manager Assertion
Dear All, The attached code (which is a contrived test case) hits the following assertion: test: /home/vadve/criswell/src/llvm22/include/llvm/PassAnalysisSupport.h:226: AnalysisType& llvm::Pass::getAnalysisID(const llvm::PassInfo*, llvm::Function&) [with AnalysisType = Pass1]: Assertion `ResultPass && "getAnalysis*() called on an analysis that was not "

[LLVMdev] DominatorTree Information required in CallGraphPass
Hi all, I am implementing a new pass for LLVM which extends Call Graph SCCPass. I need DominatorTree Information when I get to individual function. I have added AU.addrequired<DominatorTree>() and AU.addRequired<DominanceFrontier>() in getAnalysisUsage() function. But, when I get to the pass, Pass Manager gives following runtime error Unable to schedule 'Dominator Tree

How can I use llvm::LoopInfo in the runOnModule method?
Hi all, I tried to have a LoopInfo object in a function pass, and add addRequired in getAnalysisUsage, and then use getAnalysis in runOnFunction(). It worked OK. Now I want to have a module pass to traverse the functions, and similarly, I want to have to loop information of the functions. When I did the above in runOnModule, and build the module pass, the following error popped out, and the

[LLVMdev] Accessing Dominator Tree
Hello, I am working on a project that requires me to perform some analysis on a bitcode file outside the existing LLVM analysis frameworks (opt, etc.).  In what I am doing, I need to be able to access the dominator tree for a given function.  Is there a way I can instantiate a DominatorTree object outside the existing analysis frameworks? I have tried several things all along the lines of:

How can I use llvm::LoopInfo in the runOnModule method?
Interesting that we're getting a relative flood of these recently. See here: http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2019-March/131346.html I don't think one can reliably get a Function analysis pass from within a ModulePass using the legacy pass manager. You have to manually construct the pass yourself. -David Jonathan Smith via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at

[LLVMdev] Accessing Dominator Tree
John, Thanks for the quick reply.  Using a PassManager object should work fine.  As you said, my only objection is to exec'ing opt.  I had actually tried instantiating a PassManager object before, but I was definitely not doing it right.  I will take a look at how clang and SAFECode use it, and see if I can get it working. [LLVMdev] problem loading analysis results from Inliner pass
Hi, I'm trying to access an analysis pass from the Inliner pass, and I'm having a lot of trouble getting that to work - I can verify that my pass is loaded and run (it is a dynamically loaded pass that is part of an analysisgroup), however, when I access it using getAnalysis<> from within Inliner::runOnSCC, I am instead getting the default, dummy version of my analysis, which should

Ideally, we want to use two separate pass. However, it is quiet possible that your requirement is unique. Would it be possible to provide more info. on what your pass does ? >
