[LLVMdev] access array problem
Hi, I want to access an array in my instrumentation code. For example: GlobalVariable: int *counter; //counter the number of load/store operations in run-time int *counterArray; //record the load/store addresses //increase the counter if a load/store is performed std::vector<Constant *>index(2); index[0] = Constant::getNullvalue(Type:getInt32Ty(Context)); index[1] =

Add a mapping to a C++ lambda
Apologies for the noop question in advance (just getting started with LLVM), and I'm not entirely sure if this is the right list to post to. is it? I have some lambda functions as member variables that I want to have my LLVM language make calls to. I've added a mapping to them, but this doesn't seem to enable LLVM to resolve the functions. I asked on stackoverflow but the suggestion

Bug in replaceUsesOfWith: does not keep addrspace consistent in GEP
Hello, Calling `replaceUsesOfWith` with a value in a different addrspace does not keep the addrspace of a GEP consistent. Is this known? Is this a bug or expected behaviour? Minimal counterexample link <https://gist.github.com/bollu/152ba5e1c20c03c7fc6d8c7b23ba828f> Reproduced here: #include <iostream> #include "llvm/ADT/APFloat.h" #include

[LLVMdev] clang: call extern function using JIT
Can someone pease tell me what I am doing wrong? Im trying to register an external function with the JIT, so can call functions in my music application. Here my function int Execute(llvm::Module *Mod, char * const *envp) { llvm::InitializeNativeTarget(); std::string Error; llvm::OwningPtr<llvm::ExecutionEngine> EE( llvm::ExecutionEngine::createJIT(Mod, &Error)); if (!EE) {

[LLVMdev] clang: call extern function using JIT
Heres my full code listing, im totally stuck. // Whistle.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application. // #include "stdafx.h" #include "clang/CodeGen/CodeGenAction.h" #include "clang/Driver/Compilation.h" #include "clang/Driver/Driver.h" #include "clang/Driver/Tool.h" #include

[LLVMdev] Access a specific address in the JIT compiler
Hi, I am using the JIT compiler to execute code that must interface with the running process. I would like to access some specific addresses. The solution I found is to create a global variable for each address I want to reference, and pass it as a mapping to the ExecutionEngine with addGlobalMapping. Is that how I should do this? Is there no way to just reference the addresses with constants?

[LLVMdev] reference to non-static member function must be called
Hi,everyone. I'm writing a pass in which a CallInst to an external function will be inserted. The function is declared like this: void func(int a, unsigned chat *p); and in the Pass(a Function Pass ,and using the InstVistor template ), I wrote like this: void visitStoreInst(StoreInst &SI) { //Get the refference of the types Module *M =

[LLVMdev] How to read memory data througn adress of unsigned long
I have a value of long type and like to get the data at the adress in the value: ################# unsigned long v = 0xc0008000 Value* addr = ConstantInt::get(getIntegerType(64), v) #################### Then I try to use LoadInstr to get a load instruction of ir as the following: ############################ Value* data = new LoadInst(addr, "", false, bb); encounter segmentation

[LLVMdev] clang: call extern function using JIT
hi, im creating a music application(image below). At the moment im using tcc compiler but im moving across to clang because of the improved compiler warnings. Can anyone please explain and show code so I can use clang's JIT to call functions in my application? Thanks. http://old.nabble.com/file/p29449300/51709341.jpeg -- View this message in context:

[LLVMdev] Strange LLVM Crash
I'm implementing a JIT and getting some strange crashes. I'm unsure exactly what's causing them, but it seems to occur when I call the getReturnType() method on some LLVM function objects. More precisely, I'm registering some native C++ functions as LLVM functions through the addGlobalMapping method of an execution engine object. I then keep a pointer to those LLVM function

[LLVMdev] access array problem
Thank you, Duncan. I rewrote the code, please help check why it still does not work: //declare global variable const Type *IntTy = Type::getInt32Ty(M.getContext()); const Type *ATyC = ArrayType::get(Type::getInt64Ty(M.getContext()), 1); GlobalVariable *CounterSize = new GlobalVariable(M, ATyC, false, GlobalValue::InternalLinkage,

llvm interpreter does not find function defined by addGlobalMapping
Hi, I want to use a function defined in c(++)-code from code generated by llvm. For this I use ExecutionEngine.addGlobalMapping(). I started with the JIT execution engine and everything worked, then I switched to the interpreter engine and it stopped working, but only if compiled on a Linux system. More precisely it works if I use llvm 3.8.1 + gcc (Linux) + JIT llvm 3.8.0 + mingw-gcc

Linking existing functions from JITed code
Hi I’ve previously used the ExecutionEngine::addGlobalMapping to make existing functions available to my JITed code. I’m currently using ORC, as MCJIT does not appear to be maintained any longer (the kaleidoscope examples have not worked for some time with MCJIT). I’m using just the basic ORC CompileLayer directly. So, I’ve essentially copied the ExecutionEngine::addGlobalMapping related

[LLVMdev] How to create an IntegerType of the native word size
Hi all, I couldn't find any reasonable way to create the IntegerType that would match, say, intptr_t, that is the native word size of the machine I'm building on. More accurately defined, when compiling on a 64 bit Mac OS machine I want it to be Int64Ty, but if for example I'm using the "-arch i386" command line option on that machine during compilation, I want it to be

[LLVMdev] Lowering operations to 8-bit!
So does that mean that LLVM can't lower automatically to 8-bit values? I tried defining 8-bit pointers in the subtarget using "p:8:8:8" but it asserts at line 566 of TargetData.cpp in the default case of TargetData::getIntPtrType() Is it difficult to add 8-bit support? [LLVMdev] clang: call extern function using JIT
Im trying to call fuctions in my music application from c code which will be used by the JIT. Here my function, i have made no other changes to the clang interpreter example. Can you see anything else I have to add to either the fuction below or to the c code to be JIT at the bottom? // function I wish to call. int yipee(int aVar) { aVar = 5; } int Execute(llvm::Module *Mod, char * const
