vanilla build of 7.7p1 release on linux/4.17 fails with gcc8 @ "/usr/bin/ld: unrecognized option '-Wl,-z,retpolineplt'"
Verifying a report I just got pinged about, building vanilla openssh 7.7p1 on linux configures ok, but fails build around 'retpoline' I've started looking through recent reports; haven't _yet_ found anything similar. While I continue, is any of the following familiar/expected? Either known bug/issue or env conflict? The current env includes supposedly retpoline-ready GCC 8.1.1,

System goes into read only mode - not the same as posted earlier
Hello all, I?m at my wits end trying to resolve this. We are running centos 4.5 on Intel hardware. Dual SCSI disk drives mirrored on an LSI Logic controller. Every once in a while and not always on the same server and not only on the local SCSI Drives. System A ? Dual internal drives on /dev/sda System B ? Dual internal drives on /dev/sdc with a DAS on /dev/sda. Each of these

[PATCH 2/3] qemu: Implement virtio-pstore device
Add virtio pstore device to allow kernel log files saved on the host. It will save the log files on the directory given by pstore device option. $ qemu-system-x86_64 -device virtio-pstore,directory=dir-xx ... (guest) # echo c > /proc/sysrq-trigger $ ls dir-xx dmesg-1.enc.z dmesg-2.enc.z The log files are usually compressed using zlib. Users can see the log messages directly on the

[LLVMdev] should asan catch tihs?
I just tried asan on an optimized 32 bit build of ------------------------------------- #include <stdint.h> __attribute__((noinline)) void f(uint64_t *p) { *p = 42; } int main() { void *p; f((uint64_t*)&p); } ------------------------------------ and it correctly catches the invalid access. If I comment the attribute, the optimizers find and exploit the undefined behavior and

Needle + Rails - IoC
Hi, I''m looking for past efforts to integrate Rails and Needle. I am thinking of doing it myself but would be interested in seeing what others have done before. If there are examples of other IoC frameworks being used with Ruby I''d be interested in hearing about them too. I find IoC to be a helpful concept in general and, having glanced at a few existing Rails app.s, I
