[LLVMdev] Type inconsistency in LLVM 3.1: CGDebugInfo.cpp
Hi Ben, Thanks that helped a lot. The problem seems to be that with the move to C++11 we now have: void std::vector<_Ty>::push_back(std::pair<_Ty1,_Ty2> &&)' and there no conversion operator that can be applied to convert: 'std::pair<_Ty1,_Ty2>' to 'std::pair<_Ty3,_Ty4> && Where: [ _Ty1=void *,

llvm / clang does not build with new libc++
Hello, since r243376 clang does not build with new libc++ anymore. Log attached. Reverting back lib/libc++ or not using libc++ fixes it. [LLVMdev] MS VS2008 build fails - X86AsmParser
Hi all, Just tried to build from svn sources with Visual Studio 2008, mostly OK but fails building the X86AsmParser lib - I see a few commits from yesterday that may have something to do with it, but no idea what the solution is. -David See MSVC's beautiful and concise output below; Compiling... [LLVMdev] Errors building llvm with Visual Studio in Debug mode
I'm not sure what causes this. Everything builds fine in Release mode but when I try to do a Debug build I get an error in Transforms (which causes all dependant projects to fail as well). I'm not exactly sure what causes the error, I'll try to investigate tomorrow (unless someone can figure out what it is by then). Below is the output from VS: ------ Build started: Project:

Wow, that's a pretty terrible diagnostic. Does r113198 help? -Chris

[LLVMdev] Errors building llvm with Visual Studio in Debug mode
It compiles successfully with VC++ 7.1. You are apparently using VC++ 8.0, otherwise known as the Whidbey beta. The cause is no doubt due to bugs in Whidbey and this isn't the first one encountered. I'm sorry, but I cannot support beta Microsoft products (if only because I refuse to have them anywhere near my computer). All I can suggest is that you do a 'clean solution'

[LLVMdev] Metadata/Value split has landed
The `Metadata`/`Value` split (PR21532) landed in r223802 -- at least, the C++ side of it. This was a rocky day, but I suppose that's what I get for failing to stage the change in smaller pieces. As of r223916 (lldb), I'm not aware of any remaining (in-tree) breakage, so if I've missed some problem in the sea of buildbot errors, please flag me down. I'll follow up soon with

[LLVMdev] llvm (hence Clang) not compiling with Visual Studio 2008
Hello, I have just updated my svn copy of the llvm/clang repositories after quite a long time of inactivity, and found it not compiling on Windows with Visual Studio 2008. The incriminated file is: llvm/lib/MC/MCModule.cpp Where several calls to "std::lower_bound" are made, like: atom_iterator I = std::lower_bound(atom_begin(), atom_end(),

[LLVMdev] Dereferencing NULL pointer in IndVarSimplify.cpp?
Hi, Here is the code in IndVarSimplify.cpp. SmallVector<WeakVH, 16> DeadInsts; while (!DeadInsts.empty()) if (Instruction *Inst = dyn_cast_or_null<Instruction>(&*DeadInsts.pop_back_val())) RecursivelyDeleteTriviallyDeadInstructions(Inst, TLI); Since DeadInsts.pop_back_val() is WeakVH which could hold a NULL pointer, the expression,

[LLVMdev] TOT opt does not terminate!
The following code causes opt to not terminate! With TOT this morning, and of a week ago: clang foo.c and clang -O1 foo.c work fine. clang -O2 foo.c and clang -O3 foo.c do not terminate. (At least after 10 minutes) If I generate the bit code (clang-cc -emit-llvmbc) and then run: opt -O3 foo.bc it does not terminate. //foo.c int get_id(int); typedef short

[LLVMdev] Metadata/Value split has landed

There aren't any leaks to be had there, since they're allocated in a custom allocator. They're

[LLVMdev] Eliminating gotos
Hi Mon Ping, Discussing this with others in AMD it came up if it is possible for LLVM to take a program that has a reducible graph (any C code without goto/setjmp) and generate one that is irreducible? If it is the case that the code is actually structured coming in, a simple pattern matcher could turn everything into if/endif and so on. Ben On 14/08/2008 18:39, "Mon P Wang"
