[LLVMdev] Pass Manager Restriction?
Having a ModulePass that requires a FunctionPass that in turn requires
another ModulePass results in an assertion being fired. Is this
expected behavior (that seems to be undocumented), or a bug?
Specifically, the following code will emit the assertion:
[VMCore/PassManager.cpp:1597: virtual void
llvm::ModulePass::assignPassManager(llvm::PMStack&,
llvm::PassManagerType): Assertion

In your case, A module pass (ModPass2) is trying tu use function level
pass (FunPass1) which uses module level pass (ModPass1). This is not

I'm writing a code generation with my compiler. I read sever example and
documentation but I did understand what I make wrong.
What I try to do is a compare a local variable with a constant.
But when I create a ICMP instruction I get that instruction are not of
same type.

produced by the GVN pass, where the types of the incoming values aren't the
same instance of IntegerType i1.

you're not showing enough code. What does accept() do?
Based on your description, I strongly suspect that your alloca and constant
are not the same type. Remember that alloca returns a pointer type that
you must load to get at the actual variable.

Question on KalmanSmooth
I am trying to use KalmanSmooth to smooth a time series

can i access module "files" w/o using client-server?
Hi,
I''m new to puppet and trying to get started using it just in local mode.
My basic question is: how can i reference a static file within the module
(eg in the module''s files/ subdirectory, as described in
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation). I suppose i
could try using a full.absolute path to the file, but that seems to
completely defeat the purpose

[LLVMdev] Getting Kaleidoscope to compile
Hi all,
I've started work on a new programming language for which I am
considering using LLVM as the backend, and trying to experiment with
it using the Kaleidoscope demo compiler.
Taking the full source listing from
http://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/LangImpl3.html#code and trying to
compile it with the provided instructions gives me the following
errors:

I am new to LLVM API. and I am experimenting with it.
I want to create Global Variables in a module.
I am able to create local variables using IRBuilder class. I tried using
GlobalVariable class to create global variables.

I am new to llvm so I might be missing a critical step. My system is
Fedora 12 but this also happens in Mac OS X 10.6.2. Here are the
steps I used to compile llvm:

First, you have to call llvm-g++ to use the llvm-gcc front end, but it
doesn't matter here.
I'd like to suggest that you use pastebin to put your code and the send us
the link, so that we can download it. The problem is that TheExecutionEngine
is set to NULL (maybe because of a previous error), but it will be really
better if you use pastebin.

I am attempting to use llvm casting and intrinsic functions to do basic operations on Value pointers. I have read the online documentation and relevant portions of the source code and wrote the following code to do a Float to Double cast and then a log operation-
