[LLVMdev] lli -force-interpreter complains about external function
Hi: When I try to execute lli -force-interpreter=true hello.bc, it gave the following error: LLVM ERROR: Tried to execute an unknown external function: i32 (i8*)* puts I think the error is because C library is not being linked with the byte code, but I was not able to find any helpful instruction in lli's document. Can you please teach me how to do it? Thanks Xu The hello.bc is

[LLVMdev] Structure memory layout
Hi Renato, Firstly, I have been removing target specific information from struct type on bitcode. Target specific information are type size, type alignment, merged bitfields and so on. For example 1 struct test { 2 char a:3; 3 char b:4; 4 char c:3; 5 char d:2; 6 }; 7 8 struct test vm = {1, 2, 3, 1}; 9 10 int main(void) 11 { 12 int a; 13 vm.d = 1; 14 } Above

[LLVMdev] Add call printf instructions problems
Thanks,Cheers! I found the problem is that the "Function *call_print" using the same name as the “class call_print”, which made the compiler wrongly resolved the call_print type! But I got another problems. I successfully compile the pass and I can insert the call printf (C Lib function) instructions in the LLVM IR(eg: call.bc). If the call.bc didn't contain call printf

[LLVMdev] add Inline assembly in LLVM IR
Hi all, I'm working for translating dex bytecode to LLVM IR In order to communicate with Android interpreter, The work have to add data below some instructions I want to use inline assembly to add data. Thus, I wrote a little program to find out the related LLVM IR int main() { asm(".long 0x12345678"); return 0; } and I use clang to translate it into bitcode It's the

You can't. You have to use the value 12 directly. LLVM v6.0 Internalize and GlobalDCE PASS can not work together?
Hi Hal, Thanks for your hint! $ /opt/llvm-svn/bin/opt -S -internalize -internalize-public-api-list=main -globaldce hello3.ll -o hello3.dce.ll    it works :) But I argue that `main` Function should be inserted into ExternalNames by default: Index: lib/Transforms/IPO/Internalize.cpp =================================================================== --- lib/Transforms/IPO/Internalize.cpp

[LLVMdev] add Inline assembly in LLVM IR
Hi Jian-Ru Chen, if you run llc on your bitcode with -march=cpp then it should output the series of API calls needed to produce that bitcode. Ciao, Duncan. [LLVMdev] clang : assert ignored with -O1 ?!
Hi all, I work on an embedded target, in which function assert is an infinite while(1) loop. It is a common technique to set a breakpoint in the loop, in case some error occurs while debugging. It looks like clang simply *removes* any call to assert when compiling with -O1 (not -O0). note 1 : the name 'assert' is not the problem. note 2 : if the while(1) loop has some side effect,

[LLVMdev] LLI Documentation
Hi, I'm interested in learn how LLI works behind the scenes, that is, how interpretation and dynamic compilation works and if possible help with the development. Is there any documentation regarding specifically this part of the system? I've read some general documentation: prog. manual, lang. reference, ... Any advice on what start reading will be very welcome. César.

[LLVMdev] [NEW PATCH] X32 ABI support for Clang/compiler-rt (Clang patch)
This patch is still not creating elf32_x86_64 objects. No idea why. :( It does however, fix elf_x86_64 (-m64) code generation on x32 hosts which is nice. :) --- ./tools/clang/include/clang/Driver/Options.td.orig 2013-05-16 21:51:51.286129820 +0000 +++ ./tools/clang/include/clang/Driver/Options.td 2013-05-16 21:53:24.875004239 +0000 @@ -841,6 +841,7 @@ HelpText<"Enable hexagon-qdsp6
