[LLVMdev] Error building Clang?
Did you 'svn up' on both your llvm and clang checkouts? Yea, what Ben said.. Ben, Does 'make up' update the test-suite/compiler-rt as well? [LLVMdev] Using cl::ZeroOrMore more pervasively with the cl::opt class
All, Is there any particular reason we don't use cl::ZeroOrMore more pervasively with the cl::opt class of command-line options? 1. Some of llvm's optimizations are enabled/disabled by llvm command-line options. Passing these options to our build system via CFF and CXXF result in redundant CL options. If the CL option is a cl::opt which defaults to cl::Optional, a warning is emitted.

[LLVMdev] DW_TAG_lexical_block structure in debug information
Hello, The documentation for debug information (http://llvm.org/docs/SourceLevelDebugging.html) says the structure of block descriptors metadata is: !3 = metadata !{ i32, ;; Tag = 11 + LLVMDebugVersion (DW_TAG_lexical_block) metadata,;; Reference to context descriptor i32, ;; Line number i32 ;; Column number } However, looking at the generated metadata, there are 2 extra

[LLVMdev] How to use LLVM optimizations with clang
Thanks alot Chad for quick response. Does this means that, we can not use LLVM optimizations except O1, O2, O3, O4 and unroll-loops with clang? One more thing I would like to know that If I want to process multiple modules with opt at the same time like opt -adce *.bc then how is it possible with opt in one go, if I process all the bytecode files within Makefile. Thanks. Shahzad On Thu, Jun

[LLVMdev] How to use LLVM optimizations with clang
Hi Shahzad, > Is it possible that we can use LLVM optimization beside O1, O2, O3 > along with dragonegg plugin? sure, try this: gcc -fplugin=path/dragonegg.so ...other_options_here... -S -o - -fplugin-arg-dragonegg-emit-ir -fplugin-arg-dragonegg-llvm-ir-optimize=0 | opt -pass1 -pass2 ... Here -fplugin-arg-dragonegg-emit-ir tells it to output LLVM IR rather than target assembler.

Devang, I see the cause for confusion. Your message from this morning was specifically referring to this assert: Assertion `ExtVNI == VNI && "Unexpected existing value number"' failed. That assertion was fixed in the r144547. The PR shows this assert: Assertion failed: (isMetadata() && "Wrong MachineOperand accessor"), function Bisect fails until the

Job openings as a virtual machine backend engineer - Qualcomm (Raleigh, NC)
Hi John, I was posting the position on behalf of another team within my group, DCG.  The scope of the work is fairly broad and is closely related to the type of work we do with LLVM, but I don't believe the potential candidate will work directly on LLVM (at least that's not the immediate plan).  I apologize if I've somehow misused the mailing list; that was certainly not my

[LLVMdev] How to use LLVM optimizations with clang
Hello I need some help here please. If we compile source files directly in to native code: $ clang -O3 -lm *.c then the runtime is like following real 0m2.807s user 0m2.784s sys 0m0.012s and If we emit LLVM bytcode and apply optimizations $ clang -O3 -c -emit-llvm *.c $ llvm-link *.o -o comb.ll $ time lli ./comb.ll then the runtime is real 0m2.671s user 0m2.640s sys 0m0.020s But, if I
