[LLVMdev] PLEASE help with Alias Analysis initialization assertion at the end of my pass
Yes, it is a pass.
Here is a very general overview of the file structure as far as the AA is
concerned. LLVM is not my strong-suit, I do hardware simulators, not
compilers.

[LLVMdev] 'opt' Aborted "While deleting: void %"
Using Valgrind hasn't shown me anything terribly unusual. And I'm confused
because its not even trying to delete a real instruction; deleting a void
type with no name? That doesn't make any sense...
Any other hints? I've seen a few posts in the past about this relating to
some internal LLVM bugs...

Hi Griffin, did your pass create a data structure that holds values somehow,
and forgot to delete it? Also, try running under valgrind in case this is
due to a memory error of some kind.
Ciao, Duncan.

[LLVMdev] Assertion `AA && "AA didn't call InitializeAliasAnalysis in its run method!"' failed.
Hello all,
I am working with someone else's LLVM code, which is about 8 months old.
Part of this pass involves AliasAnalysis, and I'm getting the above
assertion when the pass completes.
The dump is as follows:

Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

[LLVMdev] PLEASE help with Alias Analysis initialization assertion at the end of my pass
Hello all,
I really, really, really need your help. This is my third email now,
please don't ignore me! I understand this must be a trivial thing, but
I've ground to a halt, and REALLY need some guidance. Please see below for
the context of my problem. I'm not trying to be a waste of time, but I'm
desperate here.
I have a getAnalysisUsage method which does the following

[LLVMdev] 'opt' Aborted "While deleting: void %"
Hey everyone,
So I have an LLVM pass that appears to run completely and work fine, and
then it aborts at the very end. When exiting the final runOnFunction call,
I get the following error / stack dump. I cannot figure out why this is
happening for the life of me - does anyone have any ideas? I'm not trying
to do any crazy deallocation or anything, it just seems like a normal pass
to me.

[LLVMdev] [LLVMDev] Trouble Linking
I am writing my register allocator directly in the LLVM tree, and I am
having trouble linking my project on windows msvc 10.0 compiler. The
error are below, but let me say what I have changed.
1. I added "(void) llvm::createJDKunkRegisterAllocator();" to the
struct ForcePassLinking::ForcePassLinking() method in
"llvm\include\llvm\LinkAllPasses.h"
2. I added "FunctionPass*

[LLVMdev] [LLVMDev] Trouble Linking
I'm sorry, I don't know what you were looking for. The first 5 were
scattered amidst different e-mails. The others have to do with
following what "RAFast" and "RALinScan" as examples. It's a linker
error, and I do not know why only opt and bugpoint does not compiler,
and why llc does not show my reg alloc pass anymore. It worked before
the API change e-mail was

[LLVMdev] [LLVMDev] Trouble Linking
- I placed my code in the the existing CodeGen library.
- No, it is not in the CMakeLists.txt. The code is separate from the
rest of the CodeGen code, but it is linked into the code gen library
automatically through the visual studio linker. Perhaps something
funny is going on here. I will try placing the code directly in the
library, and I will include it to the CMakeLists.txt.
- Thanks

[LLVMdev] Problem with llvm-gcc 'make' and arm-none-linux-gnueabi-as
Hello:
I recently attempted to update the ARM cross-compilation setup I had with
llvm, and it did not work, so I wanted to revert back to my initial
configuration. I reconfigured/make/make install'ed my llvm which executed
fine, and then cleared out my llvm-gcc obj and install folders, and
reconfigured gcc from within llvm-gcc/obj as follows:
../llvm-gcc-4.2-2.9.source/configure

[LLVMdev] VS build is broken again
SimplifyLibCalls.cpp is no longer part of Transforms\IPO and
Transforms\Scalar\SimplifyCFG.cpp is renamed to SimplifyCFG.cpp or
something to that effect ( I didn't look up the actual checkins ).
Having fixed that, I still can't get through the build:

[LLVMdev] Fwd: DomTreeNode
All the functions in LinkAllPasses.h are passes. I am not sure whether it
takes inline functions. I added createPostDomTree() to LinkAllPasses.h but
I get the same error. I wonder whether it was even worth it making the
functions inline for PostDominators.h.

[LLVMdev] building llvm on Windows
I tried to compile on Windows ( using the win32/llvm.sln in MSVC Express
2008 ) the new 2.3 branch and here are the results:
1. I needed to copy the file Configure.exe.embed.manifest to
Configure.exe.intermediate.manifest . This is a bug from the previous llvm
release (2.2)
2. I copied the file SimplifyLibCalls.cpp from lib/Transforms/Scalar to
lib/Transforms/IPO. I think the position of

[LLVMdev] How can I see what opt tries to delete at the end of a pass?
Hello,
I've been stuck with a problem for about a month, and it has stumped
everyone in my lab. I have a function pass that runs, and when it finishes
and opt goes to return, I get:
While deleting: void %
An asserting value handle still pointed to this value!
UNREACHABLE executed at /x/grwright/llvm/llvm-2.9/lib/VMCore/Value.cpp:569!
On a simple test case, the error becomes 'i32 %'

[LLVMdev] How can I see what opt tries to delete at the end of a pass?
ValGrind gives me some info, but I'm not great at memory stuff, and so I'm
not sure what to make of it... This is code that worked for someone 8
months ago, and I'm just trying to get it to run on llvm 2.9 instead of
2.8, so the fact that it hasn't been working is frustrating. Anyway, my
issues seem to stem from IntervalIterator, as seen below. I have a lot of
similar issues

I have done that. I have defined createMyAnaPass() in Passes.h and it is
defined in MyAna.cpp and used in LinkAllPasses.h
But still the error :
