[LLVMdev] Pulling line number/file/path information from DbgStopPointInst instructions
Hi folks, I had some code that used to work fine in earlier versions of LLVM, but is now failing. I have some code that expands DbgStopPointInst instructions to my own entry points in an opt pass, but it's currently failing to get the file name and path back, though it is still correctly getting line numbers. If you happen to have a code fragment that is known to work, it would be

[LLVMdev] Error when running llc to compile .bc to .s
Dear staff, I downloaded an llvm version from the svn trunk at June 12, because the released 2.5 version can not support "gcc -g -Ox", and x=1,2,3. I use the version in svn to compile an httpd.bc file succefully with dbgstoppoint() functions. However, when I use llc to compile the bc file to .s file (llc -f -o httpd.s httpd.bc), I met this error (the httpd.bc file will be

[LLVMdev] Pulling line number/file/path information from DbgStopPointInst instructions
Hmm... if I do a print() on the result of getFileName(), I get i8 * getelementptr ([9 x i8]* @.str, i32 0, i32 0) back, but if I try to dyn_cast this to GetElementPtrInst it fails (returning null), so presumably I'm seeing a GetElementPtrConstantExpr... so how can I get at that constant i8 array without casting to a GetElementPtrInst, and with GetElementPtrConstantExpr being

[LLVMdev] [patch] DwarfDebug problem with line section
DW_AT_stmt_list attribute's value is a section offset to the line no info for current compilation unit. If there is only one compilation unit generated per .o file then it is always zero. What kind of errors are you seeing ? - Devang On Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 9:02 AM, Artur Pietrek <pietreka at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all, > While implementing debug info for our backend, we've

[LLVMdev] [patch] DwarfDebug problem with line section
Hi Devang, Thanks for working on that. Unfortunately after your change it still doesn't work (I've tried x86 and our backend under Linux). The problem is that you put difference between two labels .Lset7 = .Lsection_line_begin-.Lsection_line ## DW_AT_stmt_list and that will be evaluated by assembler to a constant. It has to be a label, not a constant, because it is the linker who knows

[LLVMdev] Patch for llvm::DepthFirstIterator.h and llvm::PostOrderIterator.h
Hi Olaf, This patch looks good to me. I just have a few minor comments: > + inline df_iterator() { CurrentTopNode = 0; /* End is when stack is empty */ } Should the comment here be updated to say that the End is reached when the stack is empty and when CurrentTopNode is null? > + inline void toNext() > + { LLVM style puts the open brace on the same line as the function name.

[LLVMdev] [patch] DwarfDebug problem with line section
Hi all, While implementing debug info for our backend, we've noticed a problem with debug_line section. We believe that the following code is wrong: // DW_AT_stmt_list is a offset of line number information for this // compile unit in debug_line section. It is always zero when only one // compile unit is emitted in one object file. addUInt(Die, dwarf::DW_AT_stmt_list, dwarf::DW_FORM_data4,

[LLVMdev] [patch] DwarfDebug problem with line section
I updated DwarfDebug to use section offset, instead of hard coding 0, to handle LTO properly. r107202. Thanks for brining this up. - Devang On Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 11:27 AM, Devang Patel <devang.patel at gmail.com> wrote: > DW_AT_stmt_list attribute's value is a section offset to the line no > info for current compilation unit. Assertion in 'DwarfDebug.cpp'
Here are a couple things I would try to help triangulate on the problem. Try a vanilla upstream compiler for an in-tree target. (IIRC you have your own target.) If that fails, it's pretty optimal for you because you should be able to reduce a test case and file a PR. If it doesn't fail, that suggests it's either something your target does or doesn't do, or some bug in how

Assertion in 'DwarfDebug.cpp'
Since updating to the LLVM v5.0 Final tag, I am seeing a crash when I enable '-g'. With a Debug build this hits an assertion at line #923 in 'lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/DwarfDebug.cpp': assert(EndLabel && "Forgot label after instruction ending a range!"); The values of related variables at this time are: 'Begin' is: DBG_VALUE %I23, %noreg,

[LLVMdev] Patch for llvm::DepthFirstIterator.h and llvm::PostOrderIterator.h
Hi @clang and @llvm, attached you'll find a patch dealing with some iterator issues I already mentioned in both lists. Since there was no reaction I cross-post again - now IMHO production-ready code. The patch is considered to get checked-in out of the box. It should not affect the behavior of existing and working code. I really need it for clang AST processing. Changes: 1. Both

[LLVMdev] DwarfDebug problems
In a pass I’m working on, I’ve done some manipulation of several functions, replacing them with new copies with different types, etc. The LLVM IR passes the verifier, but when I have debug symbols enabled (“-g”), I get the following error when Clang generates the Dwarf info (using a very recent build of LLVM/Clang from Git mirror): > Assertion failed: (TheCU && "Unable to find

David, Dean, all, The bots got red today with assertion failures in llvm::DbgVariable::addMMIEntry: http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/sanitizer-x86_64-linux/builds/1816/steps/check-msan%20in%20gcc%20build/logs/stdio I did not find the offender yet.
