[LLVMdev] How to get ELF section virtual starting address from MCSymbolRefExpr?
Yeh, I eventually figured that out. Thanks for responding though. [LLVMdev] arm64 / iOS support
Attached is a working patch set for llvm to be able to emit arm64 (currently as triple aarch64-apple-ios) mach-o object files, in case someone is interested. I'm not sure if the llvm maintainers want the patch given the previous message that there's going to be an official patch set from apple to support this, but here is mine. What works (tested on an iPhone 5S): * objc strings,

[LLVMdev] Rephrased: How to get function virtual starting address from MCSymbolRefExpr?
I was mistaken as to needing the virtual address of the section , but really need to know the virtual address of the beginning of the function that contains the label whose symbol expression we have. I have a case where I the expression (MCSymbolRefExpr) is the offset from the beginning of the function. AsmPrinter::EmitJumpTableEntry() calls

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] TLS support for Windows 32+64bit
Hi! I added 2 more tests and also refined an assert statement. Applies cleanly to r148473 now. Are there more comments on the code? Thank you!! [LLVMdev] Win32 COFF Support - Patch 3
Hi Michael, Overall patch looks good. I do have a few comments below. My main comment is please try to make the style match that used in the MCMachOStreamer more closely. I intend to refactor more functionality into the base MCObjectStreamer class, and having them use consistent idioms makes this easier; specific instances are included in the comments: -- > diff --git

[LLVMdev] How to set constant pool section?
Hi, Thanks for pointing direction. As far, as I understand by reversing, logic, that I want to overwrite is digged into: lib/MC/MCSectionELF.cpp MCSectionELF::PrintSwitchToSection if (ShouldOmitSectionDirective(SectionName, MAI)) { OS << '\t' << getSectionName() << '\n'; return; } // otherwise print ".section" directive and then section

Using an MCStreamer Directly to produce an object file?
llvm-dev, Thanks so much in advance for any help, tips, or advice you may be able to offer me. I'm going to try to avoid the big-picture description of the project I'm working on, and only talk about the parts that I have trouble with / currently need to implement. -- I've been starting by taking the source code from the "llvm-mc" tool, and working that down into a

[LLVMdev] Question about MCExpr and subclasses
HI Akira, Please include the mailing list on replies. Using an MCExpr is the right way to build up things like symbol+offset. ARM has examples for that, as well, which may prove useful. For printing, the target libraries can do that however they want, including using the generic print method for expressions (or not). Often, the generic printing is sufficient, but not always. You can register a

[LLVMdev] funny llvm bug
This is a feature (or bug) of MCSectionELF::PrintSwitchToSection. For ELF target this function tries to escape string if it founds 'suspicious' character, see implementation in MCSectionELF.cpp: StringRef name = getSectionName(); if (name.find_first_not_of("0123456789_." [LLVMdev] [PATCH] ARM MC relocations
Is there a way to handle this entirely in the ARM AsmPrinter bits? Adding pieces to the generic MC stuff feels a bit like overkill at first impression. On a minor note: You probably want dyn_cast<> instead of cast<> so you can do something like: if (const MCSectionELF* SectionELF = dyn_cast<MCSectionELF>(Section)) { // ... } -Jim On Jun 16, 2010, at 3:44 PM, Evan Cheng

[LLVMdev] Emit a jump instruction to a place inside basicblock
Hi all, I'm a beginner in LLVM. Currently, I want to implement a pass that generates a jump table. The entry in that table is a jump to some place (may be an instruction) in a basic block. I'm reading the JumpTable code in llvm 3.5, there is a table which contains jump entries to functions. In AsmPrinter::doFinalization function from file lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/AsmPrinter.cpp, it gets a

[LLVMdev] [RFC PATCH 1/2] x86: Fix ModR/M byte output in 16-bit addressing mode
This attempts to address http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=18220 It also fixes a test which was requiring the *wrong* output. I'm relatively happy with this part, and it even solves most of the hard part of feature request for .code16 in bug 8684 — which was actually why I started prodding at this. But I could do with some help with the 16-bit signed relocation handling, which I've

So I tried at the lowering stage to use: GlobalAddressSDNode *GSDN = cast<GlobalAddressSDNode>(Op); const GlobalValue *GV = GSDN->getGlobal(); GV->hasSection() and GV->getSection() But the
