[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Capability of Win32.DLL with ENABLE_SHARED
Hi Takumi, > Any feedbacks are welcome. > Have fun! This seems to be pretty useful addition to LLVM on windows! And it seems the only painless way to make plugins working, yay! For me the patch looks pretty good. One minor thing: could you please rename SharedDir => SharedLibDir Thanks! -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Saint Petersburg

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Capability of Win32.DLL with ENABLE_SHARED
Good summer, all! This patch enables ENABLE_SHARED=1 to build DLL based LLVM toolchain. I have checked this on Cygwin-1.5, Cygwin-1.7, mingw(msysgit) and mingw-cross-fedora12. I can separate this patch into some parts; cleanups, adding definitions and adding rules. Any feedbacks are welcome. Have fun! ...Takumi * Pros - reduction of linking time of toolchain. - capability of -load

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Capability of Win32.DLL with ENABLE_SHARED
Anton, Thanks for your comment. 2nd patch attached. - s/SharedDir/SharedLibDir/g - move prefix=cyg sunk into if(cygwin or mingw) arigato gozaimasu...Takumi * Additional issues - You may build LLVMHello.dll but I don't modify lib/Transforms/Makefile. Because making LLVMHello.dll requires the library LLVM.dll, but it oughta be on the way to making libs at building

[LLVMdev] LLVMgold.so in windows LLVM builds
I am trying to build LLVMgold.so on windows. I came across this piece of code which includes “gold” source directory in tools/CMakeLists.txt if( LLVM_ENABLE_PIC ) # TODO: support other systems: if( (CMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME STREQUAL "Linux") OR (CMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME STREQUAL "FreeBSD") ) add_llvm_tool_subdirectory(gold) else() ignore_llvm_tool_subdirectory(gold) endif() else()

[LLVMdev] LLVMgold.so in windows LLVM builds
I tried building it on windows with some CMake changes. But unfortunatelym my clang crashes when it tries to access the LLVMgold (not able to open it). I have CCed Rafeal and Nakamura who might know why gold plugin in not supported on Windows platforms. --Sumanth G > Hi, > > On 14 June 2014 00:26, <sgundapa at codeaurora.org> wrote: >> I am trying to build LLVMgold.so on

Build libLTO.a instead of libLTO.dylib with Cmake
Hello, Is there any CMake variable available to build LLVM libs as static libraries. I found one -DLIBCLANG_BUILD_STATIC=ON but what if I want libLTO.a instead of libLTO.dylib ? *Vivek Pandya* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... ThinLTO: passing TargetOptions to LLVMgold.so
Hi all, I am trying to figure out the best way to deal with non-default TargetMachine options when using ThinLTO with the LLVMgold.so plugin. (I'm adding support for ThinLTO to the LDC D compiler) Things like the target triple, target CPU and target CPU features, some floating point options like unsafe-fp-math, etc., those are (or can be made) explicit in the IR. Is that the way to go? We

[llvm-toolchain v3.8.1] LTO: Linking clang hangs with ld.gold and LLVMgold.so plugin
Hi, unfortunately, my build somehow hangs when linking clang binary and my system is in an unusable state. My toolchain is clang-3.8, gold-1.11 and LLVMgold.so from binutils v2.26.1 (both selfmade) and LTO-flag is enabled. My buildsystem uses cmake-3.6.0 and ninja-1.7.1 (both prebuilt). I have 52 last steps left in my 3rd build. My Linux-kernel is v3.13.0-92 from official Ubuntu repositories.

[LLVMdev] building libLTO.dylib
Is there a particular method one should used to build the libLTO.dylib from the llvm svn on darwin9? Unless I am confused, it seems that libLTO.dylib gets built when I do a configure and make directly in the llvm svn tree but not when I created separate llvm_objdir directory and execute configure and make within it. Thanks in advance for any clarifications. Jack

[LLVMdev] building libLTO.dylib
I puzzled out that the --with-pic option was required to cause the libLTO.dylib to be built. I must have done a make before directly in the lto tools subdirectory when I was building directly in the source tree. Jack

[LLVMdev] API CHANGE: set_gcc_path removed from libLTO C binding
If you haven't written code to the libLTO interface, you can stop reading now. As of r77960 I've removed the lto_codegen_set_gcc_path call from libLTO. This wasn't in the last LLVM release and has already been obsoleted by lto_codegen_set_assembler_path. This shouldn't be a problem for any libLTO users that I know of, but if you were using this, and you can't switch to

[LLVMdev] Help with libLTO and clang
Hi all, I am testing link time optimizations with clang on linux x86_64 machine running Ubuntu Maverick. I am using clang with llvm release-3.0 I followed the instructions on http://llvm.org/docs/LinkTimeOptimization.html However, when I try to compile with one file being bitcode and other being native code exactly as shown in the documentation, I get the following errors clang a.o main.o -o

[LLVMdev] Automating Analysis Pass at linktime question [liblto] [safecode]
Hello all, I'm a research assistant at the University of Wisconsin and we're trying to come up with a general way to run our whole program analysis over programs that may use different methods to perform the build. I saw some discussion that liblto could be used for this (and safecode successfully did it) for llvm 2.6 - 3.0, but that doesn't seem to be working the same way with llvm

how to avoid linking with libLTO?
Hi, Is there a way to avoid linking with the dynamic LTO library. I’m using llvm 5.0.0 on various platforms (linux, windows, macOS), this library is not required by my application and I keep having trouble with it. My project is cmake based and makes use of LLVMConfig.cmake or llvm-config output (depending on the platform - there is no LLVMConfig.cmake with the windows package). On windows the

[LLVMdev] libLTO on Mac OS X
Dear LLVMers, I'm currently working on creating an alternate libLTO.so that will run some whole-program analysis and transforms of mine during the final linking of an executable. The idea is for it to link all of the bitcode files together, run the regular LTO passes, and then run my passes. For Linux, I should be able to get the Gold linker to load my libLTO.so instead of the standard
