CloneFunction during LTO leads to seg fault?

The core of the issue is that CloneFunction (with ModuleLevelChanges=true) on a function that has had other functions inlined into it generates orphan debug info metadata nodes. Then when this module is emitted, DwarfDebug

CloneFunction during LTO leads to seg fault?
Hi Medhi, Thanks for you reply. Here is the full output of -print-after-all [1] and just the module itself after my pass[2]. I've looked over the IR, but I can't see anything obviously wrong. I'm not sure what you meant by: > You may want to try to add it at the end of the pipeline My pass is the last one added inside populateLTOPassManager. Should I add it to the

Insert CallInst within a function passing same parameters of the calling function.
Hi, supposing I have a function “foo” like the following: int foo(int a, int b) { ... ... } I want to insert int the LLVM IR a call instructions to a function “bar” that requires the same parameters of foo. So my function foo will become: int foo(int a, int b) { bar(a,b); … ... } I am using the following code: bool ThreadSanitizer::runOnFunction(Function &F) {

clone function
Hi, I am trying to use the CloneFunction from llvm/Transforms/Utils/Cloning.h and I don't understand how the ValueToValueMapTy argument should be initialized. For instance, let say I want to clone this function (to add an argument): define void @function(i32 %i) #0 { entry: %i.addr = alloca i32, align 4 store i32 %i, i32* %i.addr, align 4 ret void } to another function which should,

CloneFunctionInto produces invalid debug info
I was just going to say: With well-formed debug info it should create a deep copy up until the DISubprogram, but no further. But because the DISubprogram linked to the Function is missing the special handling of the DISubprogram (that would prohibit cloning the DICompileUnit is side-stepped). But then I remembered the discussion we had in

[LLVMdev] CloneFunctionInto() Error
Dear All, I need your help urgently I have to copy the CFG of each function using CloneFunction or CloneFunctionInto. After I made the copy function. Print the basic blocks then get this error : While deleting: i32 % Use still stuck around after Def is destroyed: %mul2_ = mul nsw i32 %6, 3 Use still stuck around after Def is destroyed: store i32 3, i32* %x_, align 4 opt: Value.cpp:75: virtual

[LLVMdev] Cloning block for newbie
Hello everybody. I'm quite new to LLVM and I'm encontering problems with cloning basic blocks. My two basic blocks are in the same function and it doesn't really matter how the cloned one behave for the moment. Of course, to do so, I used the cloning.h 's method "CloneBasicBlock" but I have the "Instruction does not dominate all uses!" error. I know what it

[LLVMdev] CloneFunctionInto() Error
Does cloning copies the function with its address or it constructs a new address to the new function? Is this real copying for the CFG or just opaque one to do some work? If it's not real copying, please I need a method that can help me in copying the function in another with new pointer to another address. Please I need answer urgent Thanks On 29 May 2013 10:14, Rasha Omar <rasha.sala7

CloneFunction during LTO leads to seg fault?
Hello, I'm writing an LTO pass and I'd like to be able to duplicate a function (with debugging info). I'm trying to accomplish this with CloneFunction but it's leading to a seg fault in ld. I've whittled down my problem so that it occurs in this small pass [1]. If I run this pass with opt, I get the expected result (i.e. a valid program that calls main twice). If I run

[LLVMdev] Cloning block for newbie
Please reply-all so that the thread is kept on llvmdev. The LLVM Programmer's Manual has examples of how to iterate over many common structures, such as instructions in a basic block[1]. Other than that, you can check the source code or doxygen[2]. Basically, you loop over the instructions as detailed in the programmer's manual[1], and loop over the operands using User's

CloneFunction during LTO leads to seg fault?
In general I use DebugInfoFinder and clear out Metadata if GV in null or GV->isDeclaration(). If there is any interest, I can post that patch... [LLVMdev] Turning on/off instruction extensions
I applied the patch to the trunk version successfully, although I get an error in between: 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file lib/Transforms/IPO/CMakeLists.txt.rej Can I ignore the error? The patch exits normally except for that error. Also, I tried to apply the patch to the LLVM 3.0 but does not work at all. Is the trunk version the only one where the patch can be applied?

[LLVMdev] get LPPassManager to use it in llvm::CloneLoop
Hi, I try to write a FunctionPass that, among other tasks, has to clone some loops from the current function. How can I obtain the LPPassManager in order to use the CloneLoop function. In a LoopPass this is a parameter for the runOnLoop, but how can I obtain it in a FunctionPass? I tried simply by creating a new instance : ValueMap<const Value *, Value* > VMap;

[LLVMdev] Metadata/Value split has landed
The `Metadata`/`Value` split (PR21532) landed in r223802 -- at least, the C++ side of it. This was a rocky day, but I suppose that's what I get for failing to stage the change in smaller pieces. As of r223916 (lldb), I'm not aware of any remaining (in-tree) breakage, so if I've missed some problem in the sea of buildbot errors, please flag me down. I'll follow up soon with
