[LLVMdev] The MBlaze backend: can we remove it?
Hi, I just saw this thread. I work on llvm at Xilinx but I do not work on microblaze. I will check to see if there is any interest here at Xilinx to contribute resources to the maintenance of this backend. Thanks, Jeff On Tue, Feb 5, 2013 at 7:38 PM, Rogelio Serrano <rogelio.serrano at gmail.com>wrote: > > On Feb 6, 2013 4:52 AM, "Chandler Carruth" <chandlerc at

[LLVMdev] LLVM Exception Handling
Hi, I am trying to implement a scenario similar to running ExceptionDemo.cpp with parameter -1 (where the JITed code calls the C++ function which throws an exception) Different from the given example I am using IRParser instead of IRBuilder. I can successfully catch the exception in Linux but the program crashes in Mac and Windows. The code is similar to as follows: ### The test.cpp :

Consult some concepts about shadow paging mechanism
Dear All: I am pretty new to xen-devel, please correct me in the following. Assume we have the following terms GPT: guest page table SPT: shadow page table (Question a) When guest OS is running, is it always using SPT for address translation? If it is the case, how does guest OS refer and modify its own GPT content? It seems that there is a page table entry in SPT for the GPT page. (Question

Linking existing functions from JITed code
Hi Andy, I think that makes sense. I'm currently rewriting the core Kaleidoscope tutorials - I'll look at adding support for this. - Lang. LLVM compilation problem with musl
I'm trying to compile LLVM with musl libc library. The compilation process fails on the following: x86_64-linux-musl-g++ -DGTEST_HAS_RTTI=0 -DLLVM_BUILD_GLOBAL_ISEL -D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS -D__STDC_FORMAT_MACROS -D__STDC_LIMIT_MACROS -Ilib/Support -I../lib/Support -Iinclude -I../include -fPIC -fvisibility-inlines-hidden -Werror=date-time -std=c++11 -Wall -W -Wno-unused-parameter

Linking existing functions from JITed code
Hi Andy, I haven't tested this on Linux, but on MacOS the RuntimeDyldMemorManager::getSymbolAddressInProcess method should find symbol addresses in the host program, including symbols from static archives linked into the program. However, one gotcha is that the symbol has to be reachable from main, otherwise the linker may strip it from the final executable. Do you have a test-case that I

[LLVMdev] Problems building llvm on AIX
Hi, Has anyone succeeded in building llvm on AIX? Currently I am investigating several tools for code analyses and I came upon Clang. We at CCV run our core business applications on RS6000/AIX. At our department we develop those applications. The reviews on clang look very promising. I was able to build and run it on Linux (SuSE 12.1) without any problems. I tested it with valgrind sources and

[LLVMdev] Errors when compiling DynamicLibrary.cpp for Debug build
Not really. I'm pretty much leaving the win32 directory up to Jeff Cohen these days. I don't have a way to replicate the problem. Reid. I have no way of duplicating mingw problems either, but in this case the fix is obvious and has been committed. Reid Spencer wrote: >Not really. [LLVMdev] LLVM: Cannot instantiate JIT execution engine
I see two problems in your code 1) you need to #include "llvm/ExecutionEngine/JIT.h" 2) you must pass an empty string to EngineBuilder::setErrorStr. See JIT::createJIT for the reason. [LLVMdev] A first!
Misha, The "equivalent of dlsym" should be working just fine. Its called ltdl (libtool dynamic library) and is part of lib/System. Its interface is the DynamicLibrary class. The interpreter has already been modified to use this facility. So, if this is broken on windows, I'd like to know how, or why. Jeff, can you provide a test case that we can use to reproduce this problem?

[LLVMdev] A first!
The interpreter still resolves printf using a hack. It does try to use DynamicLibrary to find it, but fails. DynamicLibrary on Windows only searches the main program executable for symbols, lli.exe in this case. As the C/C++ runtime is in a DLL, it won't find printf in lli.exe. It ought to then search the runtime DLL, the name of which depends on how the binaries are built, but it

Linking existing functions from JITed code
Lang, I added the add/get global mapping to my kaleidoscope JIT, but I think perhaps these would make more sense if they were added to the object linking layer as they would be generally usable there.
