Hello LLVMers! Amazingly, it's been 4 months since the release of LLVM 2.8. And so much has changed since then! April will be six months since the previous release, so it's time to start thinking about LLVM 2.9! Here is a tentative schedule for the release (and, of course, our schedules never slip): March 6th - Branch for release. March 7th-14th - Testing Phase 1

The LLVM 2.8 branches have been created! We will be conducting several rounds of testing of this branch during September. See http://llvm.org/ for a tentative schedule. What this means for you As I mentioned in a previous e-mail, the branch is still open for code submissions. However there are a few rules that we need to adhere to: No new features are allowed, no matter how trivial they may be.

LLVMers, The 3.0 release has been delayed by 2 weeks to allow adequate time to do the final round of testing and also because many working on the release are distracted by the LLVM Developers Meeting. The updated schedule: November 16th — Fourth round of testing begins. November 28th — Fourth round testing ends. Finalize binaries. November 30th — Release! I'll be tagging rc4 tomorrow
