[LLVMdev] MAJOR API CHANGE: Pass initialization without static constructors
Hello fellow LLVM-ers, As those of you who follow llvm-commits have probably noticed, I've been hard at work reworking our pass infrastructure to perform pass initialization/registration without static constructors. This is a boon for clients of the LLVM libraries, as they can now control when and if initialization occurs, as opposed to being forced to incur the initialization cost at

Thank you, I tried to compile it with llvm 3.4 through these commands: petsas at shinigami:~/software/poolalloc$ ./configure --with-llvmsrc=/home/petsas/software/llvm --with-llvmobj=/home/petsas/software/llvm petsas at shinigami:~/software/poolalloc$ make but I'm getting get this error: make[1]: Entering directory `/home/petsas/software/poolalloc/lib' make[2]: Entering directory

[LLVMdev] Alias Analysis (Andersen pointer analysis)
Thanks Everyone for the info. I am planning to work with DSA on llvm-2.9. Hope it is working as John mentioned. [LLVMdev] Alias Analysis (Andersen pointer analysis)
The README at the location shared by John says "DSA is undergoing significant changes and may not be entirely stable or correct. See lib/DSA/README" So, I was wondering from where should one pick the code. Although I will start my analysis and see how results turn out to be. But any comments on this line will be helpful. [LLVMdev] llvm-tv
Thanks John. I verified that and poolalloc builds with LLVM 3.0. I used clang for compiling wxWidgets, LLVM 3.0 and poolalloc. But llvm-tv build still gives build error. I take it that llvm-tv is still incompatible with these versions of poolalloc and LLVM 3.0. I think the code is manageable - couple of files in lib, include and some 30 odd small files in tools directory. I'll have a look at

I fixed most of the errors. There is a weird error I am seeing and seems to be some incompatibility in expanding macros between FileSystem.h in LLVM and intl.h in wxWidgets. Any idea how to fix this? How to use mainline clang/llvm with CMake
Dear all, I am not sure whether this is a right place to ask basic questions about usage of CLang/LLVM, but also not sure if there is any other mailing list for such. Kindly point me to such a list in such case. I had built mainline CLang/LLVM on OSX and tried to use it with CMake. I had override following variables in CMake:

[LLVMdev] PowerPC Regressions for LLVM 1.6
Dear All, Thanks to the testing done by Bill Wendling, we have the following list of regressions for PPC: TEST (cbe) 'exception_spec_test' FAILED! ******************** TEST (cbe) 'function_try_block' FAILED! ******************** Oopack (jit, llc, and cbe) also fails, but I don't know if that's a regression or not. I'm alright with releasing with these regressions

[LLVMdev] What is the right way to register an alias analysis pass
Hi everyone, I am wondering what is the right way to register an alias analysis pass. My alias analysis pass is implemented in a dynamic load module. As I can see, a general way to register a pass looks like: llvm::RegisterPass<Analyzer> X("rci", "RCI Pass"); However, registering a type-based analysis uses: INITIALIZE_AG_PASS(...) I think, registering an
