[LLVMdev] getting and setting array indices c interface
I really can't figure out how to get and set array indices from the c interface. so to get an element I'm calling tindex = *fn\SymbolTable(*index\name) index = LLVMBuildLoad(builder, tindex,"index") arr = *fn\SymbolTable(*array\name) arrptr = LLVMBuildLoad(Builder, arr,"arrayptr") tmp = LLVMBuildGEP(Builder,arrptr,index,0,"ptr") ptr =

[LLVMdev] PHI and Allocas
Hi, I'm incrementing my toy compiler to account for variable mutations around if/else blocks. Reading the Kaleidoscope tutorial, I've learnt that I can substitute the PHI node creation by allocas and retrieving the value later, if needed. The Kaleidoscope example seems to account for one value only, the result of: Value *ThenV = Then->Codegen(); (...) Value *ElseV =

[LLVMdev] libclang JIT frontend
Hi, I'm not sure if this is a libclang, llvm::cl or clang-interpreter issue so I'll try posting here for a response. I am using libclang as a frontend to the LLVM JIT (3.3 release). I started from the clang-interpreter example and have everything working (given a C/C++ source file I can have it JIT'd to memory and executed) for a single run. When I try to compile a second source

[LLVMdev] llvm hangs: fibonacci numbers, recursive
Having tried out llvm I had to notice that the fibonacci example program hangs after short: > ./run fib 1 1 2 3 5 8 ^C For the next number it would be supposed to last twice as long as for 8. However it hangs forever instead. using llvm-2.5-0.pm.1.1.x86_64 Does not matter whether I compile it with gcc or interprete it with lli.

RFC: Opaque pointer status and future direction
Hi all, At the dev meeting I promised to update everyone on where my work with opaque pointers is right now. It's taken me a while, but at least it's the same year! Current Status ============== I've put two branches up at https://github.com/TNorthover/llvm-project: "opaque-ptr" which has most of the real work so far; and "opaque-ptr-always" that additionally has

Experimental 6502 backend; memory operand folding problem
Greetings, LLVM devs, For the past few weeks, I have been putting together a 6502 backend for LLVM. The 6502 and its derivatives, of course, have powered countless microcomputers, game consoles and arcade machines over the past 40 years. The backend is just an experimental hobby project right now. The code is available here: <https://github.com/beholdnec/llvm-m6502>. This branch introduces

[LLVMdev] RFC: More AVX Experience
Ok, so I've been chugging away at AVX and added some new features in TableGen to facilitate writing generic patterns. Here's an example: //===----------------------------------------------------------------------===// // Dummy defs for writing generic patterns //===----------------------------------------------------------------------===// def SRCREGCLASS; def DSTREGCLASS; def MEMCLASS;

[LLVMdev] RFC: llvm-shlib-test (Was: [llvm] r191029 - llvm-c: Make LLVMGetFirstTarget a proper prototype)
Attached is what I got thus far. What I'm struggling with is proper integration in build system. What is in there is just wild guesses from my side, both on autoconf and cmake variants. It would be great if someone with proper knowledge of the buildsystems could have a look. Also I'm not sure how to properly handle compilation on msvc - clearly "-std=c11 -Wstrict-prototypes" is

question about llvmlite
Hi all, I am using llvmlite for pyvex and I want the output of my code (which is written based on llvmlite) to be like pyvex. In pyvex, (https://github.com/angr/pyvex). Considering pyvex, I tried to implement the following statements in pyvex to llvmlite: for stmt in irsb.statements: if isinstance(stmt, pyvex.IRStmt.Store): print "ST%s(%s) = %s" % (self.endness[-2:].lower(),

When compiling trunk using gcc 4.1.2 on linux/ppc64, I now see a warning that I don't remember seeing previously: llvm[2]: Compiling InlineSpiller.cpp for Release+Asserts build /src/llvm-trunk-dev/include/llvm/ADT/PointerIntPair.h: In member function ‘const PointerTy* llvm::PointerIntPair<PointerTy, IntBits, IntType, PtrTraits>::getAddrOfPointer() const [with PointerTy = void*, unsigned

Hi, LLVM 2.1-pre1 test results: Linux (SUSE) on x86 (P4) Release mode, but with assertions enabled LLVM srcdir == objdir # of expected passes 2250 # of expected failures 5 I ran the llvm-test suite on my desktop while I was also working on that PC, so don't put too much trust in the timing info. Especially during the "spiff" test the machine was swapping
