[LLVMdev] write a simple MachineFunctionPass

[LLVMdev] MachineFunctionPass
Hello, i am trying to register a MachineFunctionPass - as it is not possible to register it like a normal pass, the documentation said, that it is usually made by TargetMachine::addPassesToEmitFile ,but i am not quite sure what is ment by that? How should i register, and how should i be calling the pass, without opt or bugpoint? Thank you Ben

[LLVMdev] Function Pass - Control Flow with uses-iterator
Hey there, i have a BasicBlock and in this BB i am going over it finding out the "uses" of each instruction to find out the dataflow, but how do i find out the control flow? or like how do i know that the next load function loads from a previous store function - i cant find this out with the uses iterator because of the SSA form. 1. %In2 = alloca float, align 4 (uses: instr. 12 and 13)

Well, I've been before hours trying this, but soon after I sent the email I found something. However is quite intriguing. I just changed the order of and the static libraries that I was linking. raw_pwrite_stream on a non-fixed-size buffer?

Hi, I'm playing with some experimental register allocators for LLVM. One of them needs to build a so-called register class tree for representing the aliasing information among register classes. This tree is not function or module specific. It is actually target specific, because it depends only on the register classes defined for a machine that is used as a target of the current compilation.

Assuming you are talking about this line: passmanager.add(tliwp); I don't see anything obviously wrong. Are you hitting an assertion or a pure crash? (if LLVM not built with assertions, please rebuild). I like the idea of a generic MachineCodeWriter, although I prefer the name 'ObjectFileWriter'... I think we need to take a hard look at which bits of the Writer/Emitter infrastructure are needed for what tasks (Object File Emittion, JIT, etc.) and make sure that our abstractions are flexible enough... As it stands at the moment, the Writer and Emitter classes could definately be merged
