[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran gives errors on AMD64-Ubuntu
Hi,
I have installed llvm and llvm-gfortran on Pentium4 machine using 32-bit
Ubuntu, it works fine. I recently installed them on AMD64-Ubuntu 8.04,
llvm-gfortran gave me following errors
$ llvm-gfortran -Wall hello.f95 -o hellof

this works here on x86-64 ubuntu 8.10. I took a look in my libgfortran.a
and it doesn't reference any of the symbols you mention.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran gives errors on AMD64-Ubuntu
Hi Duncan,
Thanks for your answers. Compiling .s file is OK after adding the -lgfortran
-lgfortranbegin.
I replace my Ubuntu 8.04 and by Ubuntu 8.10. And I checked all new packages
installed by 'apt-get' are amd64 version. However after compiling the
llvm-gfortran, I got the same error.
Here is my configure arguments
$ ../llvm-gcc4.2-2.3.source/configure --prefix=`pwd`/../install

can't install R with *local* gcc
Hello,
we re-distribute R with our open-source platform http://www.ok-sat-library.org/
where we use R mainly for evaluation of computational experiments.
Due to the various platforms, we build everything from source, and that works fine.
Until now, that is: there are circumstances (for example in computer-science computer labs)
where no Fortran-compiler is provided, and the users (students)

[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran
Hello folks,
I want to compile some fortran code to IR, but llvm-gfortran 4.2-2.9 does
compile my fortran code. gfortran 4.2.1 fail with the same error. but
gfortran 4.4.6 and ifort compiles fine. Attached is the file causing
error. Error message is
m_List.F90: In function 'exporttostring_':

I wonder if there any way I can

[LLVMdev] gfortran: link error building gfortran on linux
Hi, in trying to build an llvm-gfortran on linux from today's gcc4
SVN, I get the following link errors that didn't show up on OS X. This
is also using LLVM CVS from this morning.
They appear to mostly be related to CodeWarrior compatibility code,
but a couple are less obvious.
What's the best way to fix this? I'm stuck without my powerbook for at
least three weeks and I'd

Updating gfortran in CentOS 5.4?
We're finding that several of the packages we
need don't compile using the version 4.1.2 of
gfortran that comes with CentOS 5.4. So,
I've built the latest version of gfortran (e.g. 4.4.2)
but I've done it so that all the new version's
files go in /share/apps/gnu so that they
don't interfere with the standard gcc distribution
(building gfortran requires building some parts

gfortran-4.4
Hello,
gfortran-4.4 is not in the synaptic package manager. Effort to search for it
on the web is not fruitful. I tried to install gcc-4.4 in place of it. That
does not solve my problem either. Another machine that has gfortran-4.4 runs
my code without error. Attempt to run the same code with gcc-4.4 failed. I
equally tried running the same code with gfortran-4.3 but that resulted in
error.

[LLVMdev] gfortran
Hi, in a thread this afternoon about compiling the Fortran SPEC2000 to
LLVM bytecode, Chris mentioned that it should be possible to compile
to LLVM with the gfortran front end, although no one has necessarily
tried it.
I was surprised (and happy) to hear this, as under the impression that
it would require a "complete rewrite of the gfortran backend" [1].
Now, I probably misinterpreted

windows rtools missing gfortran.exe?
Hi,
I replaced my Rtools today as posted at
http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/Rtools.exe
Trying to build R-devel_2007-12-13.tar.gz without modifying MkRules
gives the gfortran command not found error below. I am wondering if
gfortran.exe is missing from (recent?) Rtools.exe or I am doing
something wrong.
Thanks to hints at Duncan's site, I worked around the error by adding

[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran problems
Hi Ashay,
Do you need specifically llvm-gfortran that is based on gcc 4.2? Since
that, DragonEgg has been introduced - a powerful plugin to gcc that
makes it possible to utilize regular gcc compilers as frontends to
llvm: http://dragonegg.llvm.org/
It generates Fortran90 programs for me very well.

[LLVMdev] llvm 2.4, gfortran and darwin?
Does anyone know if the issue with building the gfortran
front-end on Darwin will be addressed for llvm 2.4? The last
time a checked a few weeks back, llvm-gcc-4.2 svn was still
producing the linkage error...

[LLVMdev] How to use the JIT with llvm-gfortran ?
Hi all,
I am having a look at llvm-gfortran; it compiles OK, but I do not know how to using the JIT as described in http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#tutorial. With llvm-gcc I managed to invoke the lli properly, but with llvm-gfortran compiled programs, it fails with the following message:
philou at tleilax:~/gcc/llvm/install/bin$ lli ./main.bc
