[LLVMdev] Question about linking llvm-mc when porting a new backend
Hello all, I am a LLVM newer who want to add a new backend(EBC) into LLVM. After coping the related files from another target and modifying it, I meet a problem when I build the project. The error message is as follows: ================================================================ [ 94%] Built target llvm-dis Linking CXX executable ../../bin/llvm-mc Undefined symbols:

[LLVMdev] How to tell whether a GlobalValue is user-defined
I think this is preventing constants in the constant pool (e.g., floating point literal) from being placed in the mergeable constant sections? We want to keep the const arrays declared in the program (s_dashArraySize1) out of the mergeable constant sections, but don't mind placing constants in the constant pool or constant arrays that the compiler defines, such as switch.table and

Build error
Hello, I am building LLVM with ninja on Linux environment and I continue to have the error below. I am thinking that the cause might be my PC not having sufficient RAM memory. In this sense, I extended my swap memory with a swap file (90GB), but it didn't solved the problem. Should I add more physical RAM memory to my PC, or is there any software based solution I can try first? Thank you and

issues with split llvm libraries and llvmpipe and failing to load library
Hey, So in Fedora rawhide we are now building llvm 3.7.1 into the lots of little shared libraries format. However I'm running into a major problem with the fact that sometimes dlclose isn't dropping all the LLVM libraries from the address space of the process. We have a sequence like this: a) X server asks mesa gbm library to init, it loads the kms_swrast_dri.so with

[LLVMdev] llvm 2.2 install and ocaml bindings
I've run into a problem with the ocaml bindings and the jit. It builds fine without the jit, but when I try to include it it tries to use the c object files from the build location, instead of the install location: > llvm-config --libdir --libfiles engine /opt/local/lib /opt/local/lib/LLVMX86.o /opt/local/lib/libLLVMSelectionDAG.a /opt/local/lib/libLLVMCodeGen.a

[LLVMdev] Multiple definitions of _floor_log2
I am trying to build the llvm-gcc frontend. I think I have followed the directions correctly. I am using cygwin on XP SP2 (uname -a reports: CYGWIN_NT-5.1 pad7 1.5.25(0.156/4/2) 2007-12-14 19:21 i686 Cygwin) gcc --version reports: gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using dmd 0.125) Since there is no binary for llvm-gcc I am following the directions in the tar file for the 4.2 version. -

[LLVMdev] Build llvm/clang with cmake vs configure produces different set of artifacts
Hi, In another post I was trying to find out how to use libc++ instead of libstdc++ when compiling llvm/clang. I couldnt find the a way to tell cmake to do that. So I switched to using configure to compile llvm/clang. But now I find that the artifacts produced are different. Here are the issues I see: - configure doesnt seem to respect '--prefix' option, it just puts

[LLVMdev] llvm 2.2 install and ocaml bindings
Erick, I see the problem. The llvm-config linker options are baked into the ocaml library, which is good. But for the execution engine, that link line includes the full paths to some .o files. Those paths come from llvm-config, and they vary before and after installation. (Before install, they point into the source tree as you're seeing.) You could theoretically get working

[LLVMdev] gfortran link failure in current llvm svn
Duncan, Actually, shouldn't this be just an error in the Makefile.in or Makefile.am? Why should a link line like... c++ -g -O2 -mdynamic-no-pic -DIN_GCC -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long -Wno-variadic-macros -Wno-overlength-strings -Wold-style-definition -Wmissing-format-attribute -mdynamic-no-pic -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o f951 \
