Problems trying to build LLVM
Hi, I am brand new to LLVM, or more precisely, trying to be. I'm getting stuck on compiling LLVM. - I tried installing on a Mint 18.1 VM with 6GB RAM, and the builds of some large executables were killed by the OOM killer. I finally realized that I needed to build using shared libraries, and succeeded. This was in November. - I put aside my LLVM project, and just got back to it. I got stuck

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] OS X - BugpointPasses and LLVMHello have extension ".so" when using CMake
For a while now I have noticed that when I build LLVM using CMake on my OS X machine there are two dynamically linked libraries, BugpointPasses and LLVMHello, that are built with the extension ".so" instead of the extension ".dylib". This has been causing four test cases to fail when running "make check". The attached patch modifies add_llvm_loadable_module in the

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM+clang on Windows
I'm following the instructions here: http://clasg.llvm.org/get_started.html and, while running cmake, I get: > CMake Error at cmake/modules/LLVM-Config.cmake:141 (message): > Library `vectorize' not found in list of llvm libraries. > Call Stack (most recent call first): > cmake/modules/LLVM-Config.cmake:54 (explicit_map_components_to_libraries) >

[LLVMdev] export of CMake project
Hi! I'm porting my own projects to CMake (seems very cool) and I want to import LLVM as external libraries. To simplify this CMake supports an export feature that can export an LLVM.cmake file that lists all libraries of LLVM. With this I could simplify the use of LLVM in my own CMake project. For this the following cmake files of LLVM have to be extended (patches are provided at the end of

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.6: problems building on Windows using MSVC 2013
Ok, I have just found the cause of the error messages I am getting, and it now makes sense to me why the 'normal' build works fine on Windows, Linux and OS X, and why my personal build works on Linux and OS X, but not on Windows. However, I still don't understand why I am getting the error messages I am getting. Anyway, it has to do with wanting to export some classes and function,

[LLVMdev] Shared library support of llvm
Actually, adding a LLVM_EXPORT macro would be positive for other environments, because you can then build LLVM as a shared library with -fvisibility=hidden and use LLVM_EXPORT to only make public symbols visible. There are several advantages to this, as noted here: http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/Visibility From: Reid Kleckner Sent: Wednesday, May 08, 2013 6:21 PM To: Peng Cheng Cc: LLVMdev at

How to add a new clang-tidy module
Hi, all, I am planning to add clang-tidy checkers for my company. How to add a new module for my company? Please help, thanks in advance. I try to copy files from cert module, and rename cert to Misra, then add a rule named "m-0-1-1" by ./add_new_checker.py. then I run ninja check-clang-tool, but my case is failed due to below error Running ['clang-tidy',

[LLVMdev] Possible bug or misunderstanding of feature LLVMConstIntOfString
Hi All I am a novice LLVM user trying to use LLVMConstIntOfString using the c api to get a integer of arbitrary size from a hexadecimal string. Example code follows: LLVMContextRef context = LLVMContextCreate(); LLVMValueRef value = LLVMConstIntOfString(LLVMInt64TypeInContext(context), "0x0000000f0000ffff", 16); This is working properly as expected. However I have noticed that

hardlink bug in 2.6.4?
The background: I host one of the unofficial slackware mirrors & push to a high speed (unlisted) mirror that several other unofficials use for pulls. To save time/disk/bandwidth I use a custom script to hardlink the trees prior to pushing the updates to said unlisted mirror. The commandline (linewrap from hell, sorry): (note: username/password/hostname/modulename deliberately obfuscated)

rsync doesn't delete unreferenced directories.
I'm using rsync to backup multiple directories, i.e. rsync -azq --delete --relative /dog /cat /fish user@rsync-server::modulename Everything works fine, except if I remove a directory from the list of those being backed up, it isn't deleted on the other side. For example: rsync -azq --delete --relative /dog /cat /fish user@rsync-server::modulename /dog /cat /fish are all backed up to

rsync patch to add Apple keychain support
Hi! In a project I'm working on, I needed a way to run rsync in daemon mode as a regular user without having the passwords readable to everybody accessing the console. With this chance rsync falls back to Apples keychain access if no secrets file is given. You need to put the passwords into the keychain like this (I do it programmatically bit it can be done manually as well):

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] LLVM 3.0 broken in lib/Support/Windows/DynamicLibrary.inc
I don't know since when, but this file has been changed to remove all the trickery (aka defines) needed for MinGW-w64 (and probably everything else that as forgotten) to succesfully compile it. Attached is a patch that reintroduces the compiler checking. I would like to see this in LLVM 3.0, otherwise (by the looks of the reintroduced code) anything newer than _MSC_VER_1500 will be broken.

Shipping LLVM.dll for the C API with the Windows installer.
Hello list! So I'm wondering if there is a will to ship a DLL with the C API exported? LLVM currently ships with LTO.dll which has some C api functions exported, made from the export file tools/lto/lto.exports, so it would not be the first DLL LLVM shipped. Currently I (and the users of my project[1]) are building it ourselves using this script[2] derived from the LLVMSharp script[3]. Which
