[LLVMdev] lli -force-interpreter complains about external function
Hi: When I try to execute lli -force-interpreter=true hello.bc, it gave the following error: LLVM ERROR: Tried to execute an unknown external function: i32 (i8*)* puts I think the error is because C library is not being linked with the byte code, but I was not able to find any helpful instruction in lli's document. Can you please teach me how to do it? Thanks Xu The hello.bc is

[LLVMdev] long double type on ARM
Dear LLVM members. I am compiling coreutils-7.4 package for ARM linux using LLVM 2.5 version. When i compiled 'od' program in coreutils package using LLVM 2.5, i could see the error message on llc processing. > llvm-gcc -emit-llvm ./od.c -c -o ./od.bc -other-options... > llc -march=arm ./od.bc -f -o ./od.s llc:

[LLVMdev] lli unreliable?
lli executed the bytecode corresponding to test_3.0_ml.ll without a failure, even though Function() is accessing an invalid memory address. The original code is in test_3.0.c, and the malloc() in Create() has been replaced by alloca() in test_3.0_ml.ll. I expected lli to segfault or similar when testing my code. Are my assumptions erroneous? -------------- next part --------------

setDataLayout segfault
I get a segfault with this code when setting the data layout: int main(int argc, char** argv) { llvm::InitializeNativeTarget(); llvm::LLVMContext TheContext; unique_ptr<Module> Mod(new Module("A",TheContext)); llvm::EngineBuilder engineBuilder(std::move(Mod)); std::string mcjit_error; engineBuilder.setMCPU(llvm::sys::getHostCPUName());

[LLVMdev] Structure memory layout
Hi Renato, Firstly, I have been removing target specific information from struct type on bitcode. Target specific information are type size, type alignment, merged bitfields and so on. For example 1 struct test { 2 char a:3; 3 char b:4; 4 char c:3; 5 char d:2; 6 }; 7 8 struct test vm = {1, 2, 3, 1}; 9 10 int main(void) 11 { 12 int a; 13 vm.d = 1; 14 } Above

[LLVMdev] Ocaml bindings in 2.8
Hi, Does 2.8 release plan to change anything in Ocaml bindings? http://llvm.org/docs/ReleaseNotes.html#whatsnew does not list any relevant features. 2.7 added 'operand' that can access each operand from a value. external operand : llvalue -> int -> llvalue = "llvm_operand" Does this binding also expose a primitive to return how many operands a given value has? I need

setDataLayout segfault
Ok. I can make a copy of the unique_ptr before moving it into the builder's constructor and use the copy later on. It is confusing to require a unique_ptr. [LLVMdev] defining types structurally equivalent to a recursive type
Hi all, http://www.llvm.org/docs/ProgrammersManual.html#BuildRecType suggests us to define recursive types via opaque and refine. Since LLVM has structural types, %rt = type { %rt* } and %rt1 = type { %rt* } should be same structurally. I tested the following code, %rt = type { %rt* } %rt1 = type { %rt* } define i32 @main() nounwind { entry: %0 = alloca %rt ;

[LLVMdev] Win32: Crash in DLL created by llvm that calls into the "putchar" function
Hello list, I got a simple test case to reproduce a crash in code that has been generated by llvm. The code calls into the "putchar" function from LIBCMT.LIB. It works when creating an .exe file, but not when creating a .dll file and calling into an exported function. First, let me show how the code works as an .exe: > cat callPutchar.ll ; ModuleID = 'test' declare i32

[LLVMdev] long double type on ARM
Unlike llvm itself, llvm-gcc needs to be configured for a particular target architecture. It looks like you're using a copy of llvm-gcc that was built to generate x86 code. [LLVMdev] Function pointers bitcasted to varargs
Do you compile this as C? In C, unlike in C++, empty parenthesis do not mean "no arguments", they mean "no prototype", which is typically treated the same way as varargs in calling conventions. To declare function with no arguments do typedef void (*FP)(void); Eugene On Wed, Apr 21, 2010 at 10:22 PM, Arushi Aggarwal <arushi987 at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all, > >
