Hello, Is it still possible to produce the LLVM bitcode after linking using the LLVM gold plugin? I get the warning "ld: warning: Ignoring flag also-emit-llvm" and the LLVM bitcode is not dumped. Hi, Himanshu. I once wrote an LLVM IR-based memory profiling pass. Basically, I followed the code for EdgeProfiling. The source code is enclosed here, which worked with LLVM 2.8. Hope it is helpful. Attached is the start of a patch to make the gold plugin work on Darwin for use as a cross-compiler. There needs to be a build step somewhere in llvm-gcc that copies it into libexec/<gcc poop>/libLLVMgold.so, but I've been doing that manually for now. It doesn't seem that simple use of -O4 results in the plugin learning what subtarget is desired. I presume that the llvm-gcc driver

Hello, What you're describing is basically the parsing and codegen portions of clang. I'd suggest reading through the code there and posting to clang-dev if you have any specific questions.
