[LLVMdev] "clang -v" shows a GCC call
llvm (and clang) do not include binutils. You're seeing clang invoking the gcc shell to assemble the .s file that clang generated, then again to link the object file into an executable. [LLVMdev] "clang -v" shows a GCC call
Thanks for your really fast answer. I understood that, but this means that the llvm+Clang suite is not able to create a machine binary file without any intervention of GCC ? I thought it could. This means too that I must port GCC+Binutils in order to have a LLVM port for my architecture ? That sound like a huge work, I've chosen LLVM at the beginnig because I thought it could avoid me

R crashes when loading library/package; Windows, Cygwin
Dear list members, This is a question is about building an R package under windows and cygwin. Please bear with me. I have a package in R that compiles well on my stationary computer (WINDOWS NT, R 1.8.1 and prior), and the resulting (package_version).zip file works well there. It contains an R script file and a C file. After installing tools to build the package on my laptop, the package

[LLVMdev] How to compile llvm with mingw on Windows ?
I'm trying to compile llvm (cvs head) on windows (WinXP sp2) using the lastest mingw, but I'm getting the link errors found below. It seems that the tools are not being linked with win32 api lib (libimagehlp.a and libpsapi.a) which defines the missing symbols. The TOOLS_VERBOSE link command is at the end of the mail and does not contain those libraries. The configure line I'm

Crash in cb_search.c, line 414
Ok, I got a strange case.. I got a bugreport from a user about my application crashing on him. After a bit of trouble, I got him to report back the module and offset it crashed at (win32). I always retain a copy of my symbol files for my release builds, so tracking down the crash address leads to: (gdb) list *0x6d5c2213 0x6d5c2213 is in split_cb_search_shape_sign (cb_search.c:414). 409

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc4 & mingw32
Hello, Everyone. This is just brief description on building llvm-gcc4 with mingw32. It's definitely non error-free and contains many "hacks", which should be eliminated in the future. 1. [LLVMdev] LLVM Build/install error?
Hi, I am trying to build and install LLVM onto a current Debian Linux system using gcc4 frontend binaries for Red Hat Enterprise Linux4/x86 . Using the commands below the Build finishes, ignoring an error that comes up again when I try to make install. See the messages below. I have no good feeling about the "-i -k" options. Is it OK? Thank you in advance for any advice and best

How to install 64bit softwares in Wine
Hi, I am using Wine1.3.28 in linux 11.04 (64bit OS) I installed Wine along with all the 32bit libraries and I read that using 64bit windows apps are still experimental in Wine. I found this page which might help http://wiki.winehq.org/Wine64 But, since I am new to linux and all, I am sort of confused about what I'm actually supposed to do.. First of all how do I know if I am using an

[LLVMdev] Building Tools on MinGW from CVS
I was building tools just fine last weekend, but now something has changed... The problem is that it can't find some symbols: (SymSetOptions, SymInitialize, SymGetModuleBase, SymFunctionTableAccess, etc.) I looked on the Web and these functions are in Dbghelp.lib. Are they also in libimagehlp.a? (BTW: does someone know a tool to examin the exported symbols in a MinGW foo.a library?)
