[LLVMdev] detection of constant diagonal matrix * vector
Hi!
currently instcombine does not detect constant diagonal matrix times vector,
for example
a.xx * [2 0] + a.yy * [0 3]
can be optimized to
a * [2 3]
I have implemented this for float. I know that this assumes x * 0 = 0
which is not
ieee compliant but i post it here in case it is interesting for someone.
on my wish list
there is still an option for target independent optimizations to have x

[LLVMdev] Throwing exceptions to code that calls the ExecutionEngine.
Hi,
I'm developing an OpenGL shader-like language, using LLVM as the JIT engine.
For some circumstances or exceptions I would like to abort the script, by
throwing an exception back to the code that called the
ExecutionEngine::runFunction.
Initially I had problems throwing exceptions from functions called from the
JIT code, where the JIT code would handle the exceptions, but this was
solved

[LLVMdev] [llvm-commits] [PATCH] BasicBlock Autovectorization Pass
Tobias,
I've attached an updated copy of the patch. I believe that I accounted
for all of your suggestions except for:
1. You said that I could make AA a member of the class and initialize it
for each basic block. I suppose that I'd need to make it a pointer, but
more generally, what is the thread-safely model that I should have in
mind for the analysis passes (will multiple threads

make fails on Solaris building include/proto.h
I'm trying to build Samba 3.0.2 or 3.0.2a on a Solaris system (I've
tried both Solaris 8 and Solaris 9), and after successfully running
configure, the "make" step hangs building proto.h.
Checking the process table, the command that is hanging is:
nawk -v headername=_PROTO_H_ -f script/mkproto.awk
I've tried running this command by hand and it also hangs. I've
tried

Oh, no. I should have been more clear. The patch was not rejected, just
lost in the daily shuffle.
I already have my employer's approval to send this upstream, so I will
prepare a patch against trunk this morning.

[RFC] Extending shufflevector for vscale vectors (SVE etc.)
Currently, for scalable vectors, only splat shuffles are allowed; we're considering allowing more different kinds of shuffles. The issue is, essentially, that a shuffle mask is a simple list of integers, and that isn't enough to express a scalable operation. For example, concatenating two fixed-length vectors currently looks like this:
shufflevector <2 x i32> %v1, <2 x i32>

Very nice. Will you be at the developer summit? Maybe we could discuss
the integration there?
Here a first review of the source code.

LangRef semantics for shufflevector with undef mask is incorrect
Ok, makes sense.
My suggestion is that we patch the IR Verifier to ensure that the mask is
indeed a vector of constants and/or undefs. Right now it only runs the
standard checks for instructions.
We will also run Alive2 on the test suite to make sure undef is never
replaced in practice.
Thanks,
Nuno

Andy,
Here is the left circular shift operator patch. I apologize to the reviewer
in advance. The patch has a good bit of fine detail. Any
comments/criticisms?
Some caveats...
1) This is just the bare minimum needed to make the left circular shift
operator work (e.g. no instruction combining).
2) I tried my best to select operator names in the existing style; please
feel free to change them as

send a list from R to C
Hello at all !
What is the correct form to give a list form R (e.g. list(c(-1,1),
"TestFile") ) to C. I have no problems, if I don't use character and I have
also no problems to give a character vector form R to C. But, if I combine
real and strings in a list then I don't know the correct syntax.
I try it with following (an example):
SEXP writeFile(SEXP headerR){

Tobias,
I've attached an updated patch. It contains a few bug fixes and many
(refactoring and coding-convention) changes inspired by your comments.
I'm currently trying to fix the bug responsible for causing a compile
failure when compiling
test-suite/MultiSource/Applications/obsequi/toggle_move.c; after the
pass begins to fuse instructions in a basic block in this file, the
aliasing

samba 4 ad member - idmap = ad for machine accounts
Hi all,
I have exactly the same problem as the OP and tried the solution below, but
I still get the error:
'Username IUCNNL\PC050$ is invalid on this system'. Should I map
useraccount, enable Guest account, chang eunix directory permissions or
things like that?
Problem:

[LLVMdev] [llvm-commits] [PATCH] BasicBlock Autovectorization Pass
Tobias, et al.,
Attached is the my autovectorization pass. I've fixed a bug that appears
when using -bb-vectorize-aligned-only, fixed some 80-col violations,
etc., and at least on x86_64, all test cases pass except for a few; and
all of these failures look like instruction-selection bugs. For example:
MultiSource/Applications/ClamAV - fails to compile shared_sha256.c with
an error: error in
