[LLVMdev] Web Server Restart
Dear LLVMers,
I will be restarting the LLVM website tomorrow at 2:00 pm Central
Standard Time. I will be adding a new virtual host.
Unless something unexpected happens, there should be no noticeable
downtime. However, I ask that people refrain from using the LLVM
website or SVN services between 2:00 pm and 2:10 pm CST so that I don't
interrupt any commits.
I will send email to llvmdev

[LLVMdev] Server Restart: Adding New Certificate
Dear All,
Some of you may have noticed that our SSL certificate expired about half
an hour ago. We have a new SSL certificate, but we haven't had time to
install it.
I am going to attempt to install the new certificate. This will
necessitate one server restart if I am successful and probably two if
I'm not.
Chances are that you will not notice any disruption, but if you're the

I'm going to restart it in 5 minutes (10:50 am CDT) to see if that fixes
the problem.

Samba 4.6.8 (Non packaged version) dns update issue
Hi Guys,
I am running into an issue here.
We have 2 domain controllers using BIND_DLZ as dns backend
OS: CentOS 6.9
Samba version: Samba 4.6.8 self compiled on another host and
distributed internally as RPM packages
Bind version: BIND 9.8.2rc1-RedHat-9.8.2-0.62.rc1.el6_9.4
Almost daily I need to restart the named process (service named
restart) to make dynamic dns updates from the member

Web services and security
Hi all,
How do folks generally secure their Rails web services? A password in a config
file? A ''webservice'' user in a ''Users'' table with its own password? LDAP
authentication for every method? Only authenticate on the "important" methods?
Something else I''m not thinking of?
I''d like to be secure, yet practical, for the sake

[LLVMdev] "Different" Summer of Code Ideas
Hello LLVMers (in particular, LLVMers interested in GSoC),
Since people seem interested in GSoC project ideas, here is one that
might not be totally obvious -- work on LLVM's testing infrastructure!
:)
I have been working hard on modernizing our nightly test performance
monitoring software, but there is a lot more work to be done. As LLVM
developers, we rely on this software for tracking

[LLVMdev] "Different" Summer of Code Ideas
Hi Daniel,
I'm an interested student in that idea I enjoy building web apps and I
have good experience. I've worked with PHP, Javascript (Jquery, Dojo,
...), Java (JSF, Struts, ...), and some databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL,
...) ... for more than 7 years. I graduated in 2005 and this year I've
started doing Masters. For this year I have to study LLVM because it
can be part of my thesis

habtm: attribute on join table
How do I retrieve the value of an attribute on my join table? For
example:
table ''people_places''
person_id
place_id
disposition
The first two use foreign keys and all that (I get that part). The value
of ''disposition'' is what I want.

We will try to be as speedy as possible.

[LLVMdev] choice between SSAPRE and bitvector aporach
Hi LLVMers,
I am a PHD student in CS dept in UIUC, I am doing a project for
Vikram's course, it is about PRE. I would like to know why you didn't
choose SSAPRE in LLVM, since it seems to be more suitable for LLVM (it
can operate directly on SSA form and avoid the conversion between SSA
and bit-vector). Can anyone tell me the reason?
