[LLVMdev] Help with pass ordering
Dear llvm guys,
I am trying to add the BreakCriticalEdges pass to my application. I
tried to add it to the PNE pass (e.g. PHIElimination.cpp -
AU.addRequiredID(BreakCriticalEdgesID); ), but I get this error:
llc -f -regalloc=simple Base1Sum.bc -o simple.s

Oh my, first he is lagging and now it's all a hurry :-)
Okay, here comes the next one.
I'm taking a short vacation next week so I will try to prepare 1 or 2 of
the next patches so that you can work on them as you have time.
Greetings, Andi

[LLVMdev] FunctionPass Analysis is not saved after ModulePasses run?
Hi,
I have a problem with the following scenario:
I use the ProfileEstimatorPass to get ProfileInfo and verifiy this info with the ProfileVerifierPass. (Please bear with me, its not about the profiling but about the Pass interaction.) Then the LowerSetJumpPass is executed and I want to verify that the esimtated ProfileInfo survives this pass by calling again the ProfileVerifierPass. This is what

Hi,
since I'm planing on a whole bunch of changes in the area of the
Profiling Infrastructure I would like to ask humbly if it is possible to
have approve-after-commit permission for the following files:

include/llvm/Analysis/ProfileInfoLoader.h
include/llvm/Analysis/ProfileInfoTypes.h

[LLVMdev] Get Analysis from PassManager
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I try to write a tool that uses the PassManager to load profiling
information for a module like this:
...
ModulePass *LoaderPass = createProfileLoaderPass();
PassMgr.add(LoaderPass);
PassMgr.run(*M);
...
I can verify that the pass was run, but how to I get to the ProfileInfo
implemented by that pass?
I tried
...
ProfileInfo PI =

[LLVMdev] Using Profile Information
Hi,
How can I use profile information into my pass for performing some analysis.
I tried something like:
PassManager PassMgr = PassManager();
cl::opt<std::string> ProfileDataFile(cl::Positional,
cl::desc("<llvmprof.out file>"),
cl::Optional, cl::init("llvmprof.out"));
PassMgr.add(createProfileLoaderPass(ProfileDataFile));

Thanks for taking the time to review this, I know its a huge patch. I still have a few questions on how you would like this patch to be re-factored and split up.

[LLVMdev] Using Profile Information
Ah BTW...

If this _in_ your pass, then you have to register the usage of this in
the getAnalysisUsage() method:
void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const {
AU.addRequired<ProfileInfo>();
}
Also you have to ensure that the pass you are using is executed right

[LLVMdev] Preserving ProfileInfo in several Passes
Hi all,
this (altough a big patch) is actually pretty straight forward: It
(tries) to preserve ProfileInfo in all -std-compile-opts passes and all
X86-Backend passes.
There is still some passes that have corner cases where the ProfileInfo
is not correct after the pass. Some passes are still missing...
How shall I proceed with this?

[LLVMdev] Preserving Analysis in ALL Passes
Hi,
I'm fighting with this quite some time now: Is there a way to mark an
Analysis (in my case ProfileInfo) as perserved by _all_ passes?
I have tried to add ProfileInfo directly in Pass.h:getAnalysisUsage()
but that produces nasty circular library dependecies.
I also tried to simply store a pointer to the ProfileInfo in Module but
then the PassManager gets confused resulting in double

[LLVMdev] Profiling in LLVM Patch
Hi all,
as proposed in
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2009-February/020396.html
I implemented the algorithm presented in [Ball94]. It only instruments
the minimal number of edges necessary for edge profiling.
The main changes introduced by this patch are:
*) a interface compatible rewrite of ProfileInfo
*) a cleanup of ProfileInfoLoader
(some functionality in ProfileInfoLoader

[LLVMdev] PassManager again...
Hi,
I have trouble making my ProfileInfo-Analysis available in the backend, I have changed llc so it loads the ProfileInfo if requested, the PassManger gives this output:

> Create Garbage Collector Module Metadata
> Basic Alias Analysis (default AA impl)

> No Profile Information
