[LLVMdev] Function Pass Manager
Hi again, I come back to this issue with an example. It's a pass which does nothing but throw the 'Unable to schedule' error. namespace { struct MyPass : public FunctionPass { static char ID; // Pass identification, replacement for typeid MyPass() : FunctionPass(ID) { initializeMyPassPass(*PassRegistry::getPassRegistry()); } virtual void

[LLVMdev] Function Pass Manager
Hi, I'm writing a function pass which is dynamically loaded by opt and I need some analysis and passes to be run before my pass: virtual void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const { AU.addRequired<LoopInfo>(); AU.addPreserved<LoopInfo>(); AU.addRequiredID(LoopSimplifyID); AU.addPreservedID(LoopSimplifyID);

[LLVMdev] YSU_Student
Hello, I wrote my own pass which needs to do some loop unrolling. I can perform loop unrolling via opt: opt -mem2reg -loops -loop-simplify -loop-rotate -lcssa -loop-unroll -unroll-count=50 mytest.bc -o mytest.bc This command works perfectly. However, what I really want is to produce the **same behavior** but from my own pass (i.e., I don't want to use opt). I wrote a Module pass which

[LLVMdev] Infinite loop when adding a new analysis pass
I am trying to add an analysis pass as a FunctionPass, and let LICM (LoopPass) depends upon it. So in LICM.cpp, I have the following: virtual void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const { AU.setPreservesCFG(); AU.addRequired<DominatorTree>(); AU.addRequired<LoopInfo>(); AU.addRequiredID(LoopSimplifyID); AU.addRequired<AliasAnalysis>();

[LLVMdev] Adding dependency on MemoryDependenceAnalysis pass to LICM causes opt to get stuck in addPass
I'm attempting to add some support for hoisting/sinking of memory-using intrinsics in loops, and so I want to use MemoryDependenceAnalysis in LICM, but when I modify getAnalysisUsge to include this : virtual void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const { AU.setPreservesCFG(); AU.addRequired<DominatorTree>(); AU.addRequired<LoopInfo>();

[LLVMdev] VLIWPacketizerList: failing to schedule terminators
Hi, I'm trying to use the VLIWPacketizerList to schedule instructions for the R600 target, and I'm running into this assertion failure: ScheduleDAGInstrs.cpp:558: Cannot schedule terminators or labels! I think I might not be using the VLIWPacketizerList class correctly. I've attached my code to this email. Can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong? Also, I had to add a LiveIntervals

[LLVMdev] Problem of stack slot coloring
Hal's advice helps me a lot to understand the implementation much better. Thanks so much! So, now I am able to state my problem more clearly: 1) There are two kinds of locals, i.e., the local variables originated from the source code (like C/C++), and the compilation generated temporaries. After instruction selection phase, the former is seen as frame indexes, while the latter is seen as

[LLVMdev] Extracting libmachine from libcodegen (bug 1121)
Hi, One of the long-standing code clean-up bugs in Bugzilla is to extract the Machine* code from the CodeGen library into a separate one, on which CodeGen depends ( http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1121). I'd like to start working on this. The general approach I'm planning to take is: 1. Identify which code to move. 2. Eliminate all dependencies that the Machine code has on the

[LLVMdev] Find all backedges of CFG by MachineDominatorTree. please look at my jpg.
Hi:    I want to do some optimization on MachineLoop. So I want to get MachineLoopInfo from MachineFunction. I reference MachineLICM.cpp. So I try to write a pass in Target/mytarget directory. I find there is Error. llvm/include/llvm/PassAnalysisSupport.h:198: AnalysisType& llvm::Pass::getAnalysisID(const llvm::PassInfo*) const [with AnalysisType = llvm::MachineLoopInfo]: Assertion

[LLVMdev] MachineLoopInfo question
Dear all, I found many methods (such as getTripCount, isLCSSAForm) are not supported for machine loops in MachineLoopInfo.h file. Does this mean I can not use MachineLoopInfo if I need getTripCount? Why not support them in MachineLoopInfo? Thank you!

[LLVMdev] Possible bug in LLC at -O1
Hi I am seeing an issue (compiled application seg faults) when llc is used at -O1. I first need to triage out which optimization/pass is responsible for the seg fault. As such I am following this strategy: disable gradually those passes at -O1 which do not exist at -O0. For this I used -pass-debug=Structure. [ diff pasted at the end for reference] The problem is I have used almost all -disable-*
