FBT Provider
Is there a list anywhere of the DTrace FBT provider calls for each version of Solaris since the Nevada build that hosed the DTrace Toolkit. I have no issue with rewriting what I need, but I am hoping to stave off having to look at all the source code to find everything. I know there is a new provider under development, but I need to be able to program DTrace routines for all the updates in

Safe Harbor Games : Backgammon - Almost works with Wine
Safe Harbor Games (http://www.safeharborgames.net/) is a popular site in the backgammon community. I am one of several people trying to get the game server to work on Linux with Wine. I am using a Asus EEE 1000HE with the latest version of Easy Peasy (Ubuntu) and Wine. The game software requires browser to launch and I was successful in getting this to work by loading windows version of

dovecot immediately exits on Fedora 2
I "upgraded" my server running UW-IMAP on Fedora 1, to Fedora 2, which defaults to Dovecot. Unfortunately, the server refuses connecions from my client (Mozilla). It seems that Dovecot immediately exits: ps aux|grep dovecot shows nothing. Also, if I manually start up dovecot, it immediately exits, with no messages. (It does at least parse the config file, since tweaking that gives me

Large addresses (Rgui.exe editing)
I'm running R under a 32-bit Win2003 Server with 24 Go RAM ... I read the FAQ and found that I have to edit my boot.ini file with the "/PAE" switch; Done. I noticed also that I have to set the R image header with the flag "/LARGEADDRESSAWARE", but to do this I need Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 software that I do not have ... Generating Data using Formulas
Hello, My name is Christian Falde. I am new to R. My problem is this. I am attempting to learn R on my own. In so doing I am using some problems from Davidson and MacKinnon Econometric Theory and Methods to do so. This is because I can already do the some of the problems in SAS so I am attempting to rework them using R. Seemed logical to me, now I am stuck and its really bugging me.

I would like to write a function that, given an arbitrary number of factors from a data frame, tabulates the number of occurrences of each unique combination of the factors. Cleary, this works: > table(horse, date, surface) <SNIP> , , surface = TURF
