[LLVMdev] Cross compiling question
I am trying to build a x86_64 to ARM cross compiler.
I configured, built and installed LLVM as follows:
$ ../../../src/llvm/configure
--with-llvmgccdir=<llvm-root>/install/x86_64-arm/llvm-gcc-4.2
--enable-optimized --enable-jit --prefix=<llvm-root>/install/x86_64-arm/llvm
--target=arm-unknown-linux-gnueabi
$ make
$ make install
Then I configured gcc front end as follows:

[LLVMdev] Is cross-compiling for ARM on x86 with llvm/Clang possible?
Hi Journeyer
First, thank you so much for your updates on your experiments.
I am currently following your steps but have found myself stuck with the
following error:
/usr/lib/gcc/arm-linux-gnueabi/4.6/../../../../arm-linux-gnueabi/bin/ld:
this linker was not configured to use sysroots
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see

Ok, this way you're generating code for x86

[LLVMdev] build errors while cross compiling llvm-gcc for ARM
Hello,
I'm using gold linker now to see if there can be any performance gain. Also
using latest gcc version (4.4.4) and latest binutils.
But when I'm compiling llvm-gcc, I'm getting this error.
/home/jal/llvm-gcc-4.2-2.7.source/host-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc/xgcc
-B/home/jal/llvm-gcc-4.2-2.7.source/host-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc/

[LLVMdev] Is cross-compiling for ARM on x86 with llvm/Clang possible?
Hello,
Thank you for your kind attention to my issue and your help.
I changed the tool chain and tried again. And there is a little progress
but still have some problem.
Using --sysroot doesn't make clang use linker(ld) in the cross tool.
Most important question is how I can make clang use cross tool linker.
Let me show you my experiment and questions below.
There are two questions.

[LLVMdev] build errors while cross compiling llvm-gcc for ARM
Sorry for not explaining well.
After compiling with g++-cross
g++-cross -c a.c
I do link using this command
/gold_binutils/build/gold/ld-new -plugin
~/Desktop/Sanjeev/LLVM/llvm-2.7/Release/lib/libLLVMgold.so --eh-frame-hdr
-melf_i386 -dynamic-linker /lib/ld-linux.so.2 /usr/lib/crt1.o
/usr/lib/crti.o

[LLVMdev] Problem with llvm-gcc 'make' and arm-none-linux-gnueabi-as
Hello:
I recently attempted to update the ARM cross-compilation setup I had with
llvm, and it did not work, so I wanted to revert back to my initial
configuration. I reconfigured/make/make install'ed my llvm which executed
fine, and then cleared out my llvm-gcc obj and install folders, and
reconfigured gcc from within llvm-gcc/obj as follows:
../llvm-gcc-4.2-2.9.source/configure

[LLVMdev] Is cross-compiling for ARM on x86 with llvm/Clang possible?
Hello list
I think I really finally found a way to crossbuild a binary for ARM using
Clang/llvm.
This message would be a documentation for someone who may concern for the
same issue with me.

[LLVMdev] Is cross-compiling for ARM on x86 with llvm/Clang possible?
Hello Gergö, Joerg and people on our list
With your kind answer, I tried to build a hello world program for
ARM(arm-none-linux-gnueabi) on my x86-64 PC.
Thank you we verified the generated bitcode. The only thing remained is
linking.
Let me brief what I did so far.
1. Built Clang/llvm in a way explained in
http://clang.llvm.org/get_started.html on Ubuntu 11.10 x86-64 PC
2. Downloaded gcc-4.0

[LLVMdev] [3.6 Release] Release Candidate 2 available
> In conclusion:

Short answer: because of git-svn and differences between what is a tag
in git and svn.
Long answer: git-svn never created proper git tags. Instead, it
converted svn tags to branches (because technically branches and tags
are same in svn). These branches were orphan and not usable for bunch
of things (I believe Takumi can provide a

LLD performance w.r.t. local symbols (and --build-id)
Hi,
Rafael took some measurements to try to investigate the effect of the local
symbols changes.
I've been taking a look at the measurements he got and there were some
interesting things we noticed.
For starters, in the range of revisions tested (r263214 through r263471),
we found that the commit for --build-id was the most noticeable, with
slowdowns from 7% to 23% (note: these were

You forgot about sysroot here.
