[LLVMdev] link problem with llvm-pass
Dear Nico,
I believe you need to add LLVMipa to the list of libraries to link into
your tool. FindUsedTypes::ID is defined in lib/Analysis/IPA.
I think it would be LLVMipa.a if you added it to LLVMLIBS and ipa if you
added it to LINK_COMPONENTS.

[LLVMdev] link problem with llvm-pass
Dear John,
thanks! I was irritated by the path of the header file/declaration.
It is not like the definition in a subdirectory. Sorry my fault.
Is there an overview where classes and link options are mapped to each
other?
Kind regards,
Nico

[LLVMdev] enabling Debian x86_64 for llvm 1.7
In trying to package up LLVM for Debian, it appears that x86_64 is no
longer a supported architecture -- so, my first question is, is that
correct? Best I can tell, the only thing that's supposed to work for
x86_64 is the C backend.
For Debian, I need to build everything from scratch. When trying to
build llvm-gcc4 from source, though, I get part way through the build
and am told that

Ok, i am writing on a different backend based on the cbackend.
The test usage of this pass looks like this:
void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const {
AU.addRequired<LoopInfo>();
AU.addRequired<MParSchedule>();
AU.setPreservesAll();
}

[LLVMdev] loadable backend versus analysis pass
Hi,
is there a problem with loadable backends and some analysis passes?
An example: If I put the C backend in my project directory, compile a
library form the code, and try to load it into lli I get the following
message:
-------------------------------------------------------
lli -load /path/CBackend.dylib
Error opening '/path/CBackend.dylib': dlopen(/path/CBackend.dylib, 1):

[LLVMdev] Unnamed structure types
Hello,
is there a method to access unnamed structure types? Maybe something similar to 'TypeSymbolTable'?
'CBackend' uses 'FindUsedTypes'-pass and a lot of glue code around it, but I don't want to use the 'Passmanager' etc.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Nico

[LLVMdev] tabs
I found 179 more *.{c,cpp,h} files with tabs. Unfortunately, the tabs
stops used vary so blindly expanding them messes up alignment in many
cases :(

[LLVMdev] More questions about non_lazy_ptr
I have a problem where my LLVM-generated code works on Linux but not on OS
X, and the problem involves non_lazy_ptr.
I have an external symbol named "@gc_safepoint_map", which is generated by
the linker's GCStrategy plugin. Since it is not generated until link time, I
declared it as an external symbol so that the modules that use it can
compile without error.
Here's what the

[LLVMdev] non_lazy_ptr question
So, I've got a case where I am attempting to pass the address of a static
symbol from a module written in Tart (the language I am working on), to a
module written in C (which is part of Tart's runtime library). This works
fine on Linux, but fails on OS X because the address being passed is the
"non_lazy_ptr" symbol, not the symbol itself.
In my .bc file, I've got code that

[LLVMdev] proposal to simplify isel/asmprinter interaction with globals
Hi All,
I'm working on various cleanups and simplifications to the
asmprinters. One thing that is driving me nuts is that the
asmprinters currently "reverse engineer" a lot of information when
printing an operand that isel had when it created it.
I'm specifically talking about all the suffixes generated by isel,
like $non_lazy_ptr, @TLSGD, @NTPOFF, (%rip) etc. These

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM on PPC
Please don't be alarmed by the failed compiles on llvm-ppc-darwin. They are likely not your fault.
I'm trying to get a PPC build bot setup (arxan_bellini), and so far it's dying here:

[LLVMdev] Error when building tutorial example
Hi all,
I'm a new user to LLVM. Not really sure if this is the correct place
to post, since there isn't really any other forums around. Anyway, the
issue I'm encountering is that, I was trying out the first tutorial
(http://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/JITTutorial1.html). I attempted to do
this in another folder that was copied from llvm/projects/sample. I
created a new folder called

Hans,
My current, and hopefully final, revision of the proposed patch
is simplified and reworked to solve the problem entirely from cmake
without touching the the llvm-build python scripts. Basically, the new
fix for avoiding the

[LLVMdev] Assembling the output of llc
Here's a more specific question about compiling native code: When I use
llc to generate a .s file, and then I try to assemble it using 'as', I
get tons of errors - it appears to be choking on lines like the following:
movl

[LLVMdev] Is it possible to use EE within optimization pass?
I realize my questions may not have been so clear. To give more details. I am writing a fuction pass. I want to interpret some of the instructions within the function pass. In order to do so, I need to create an EE object within the function pass. Now, If I compile and execute using opt. I get an error(Error loading symbol) at the line where I am creating EE.
