[LLVMdev] FYI: Phoronix GCC vs. LLVM-GCC benchmarks
Hi everyone, I have replayed the "unix benchmark v3.6 dhrystone 2" test. You can find the archive of the test here : http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/benchmark-files/byte-benchmark-1.tar.gz To play the test on gcc : make ./Run dhry2 To play the test on llvm-gcc : Replace in Makefile : CC=gcc by CC=llvm-gcc in Run : CC=gcc by CC=llvm-gcc make ./Run dhry2 Some information on the test

[LLVMdev] weird issue with mem2reg
MetaSplit is an anlysis I just finished writing. It doesn't alter anything, all it does is build a set of "program instructions". For some reason even though if I run it with any other combination of passes I've found, anytime I run it with mem2reg I get a seg fault in dyn_cast! Here's output: Starting program: /mounts/zion/disks/0/localhome/pmeredit/llvm/tools/Debug/opt

[LLVMdev] CodeGen fails for CallInst with label
It seems like LLVM happily creates function calls that pass in labels but doesn't know how to emit them. For the source c code: __asm__ __volatile__ ( ".byte 0x0f, 0x36, 0x00" : : "a" (&&label) : "memory" ); llvm-g++ -emit-llvm generates: tail call void asm sideeffect ".byte 0x0f, 0x36, 0x00",

[LLVMdev] instruction selector failure
hi, i found a problem in LLVM regarding the matching of 'Constant' nodes in the instruction selector. the testcase is for x86, but similar testcases for the other architectures (e.g. ppc) should be easy to create. i'm using the llvm-gcc 2.0 prerelease binary package. here is the testcase: int foo(int bar) { asm("movl %1, %0" : "=r"(bar) : "i"(5));

[LLVMdev]Linker error building (modified) lli
Hi Patrick, You need to modify your makefile for building your version of lli so that it includes the LLVMBCWriter.o library. You can do this with a line like: LLVM_LIBS=LLVMBCWriter if you're using the LLVM Makefile system. Otherwise you just need to make sure that {Debug,Release}/lib/LLVMBCWriter.o gets added to the link line. Reid. On Thu, 2005-02-24 at 16:37, Patrick Meredith wrote:

It's no surprise 486 code would perform much worse than i686 code. These compilers need to target the same architecture. Ideally the Makefile would include
