[LLVMdev] llvm and flushing instruction cache
Hi. I have a very quick question. Is the instruction cache flushed by the llvm jit before code in memory is written to or executed? I'm assuming so, but I can't find where in the source code this is happening. In particular I searched for clflush, invd, and wbinvd instructions, but couldn't find them. And if it's not necessary to do this, can you please explain why? (I'm

[LLVMdev] Help with PPC64 JIT
Hello, I am currently working with PPC64 JIT support for LLVM. So far I could make function calls work by adding function descriptors in 'lib/Target/PowerPC/PPCJITInfo.h' and adding a virtual method at 'LLVM::TargetJITInfo' that is called within 'JITEmitter::finishFunction' just after 'sys::Memory::InvalidateInstructionCache' to update the Global Mapping with

[LLVMdev] Help with PPC64 JIT
Hi Adhemerval Zanella, the old JIT infrastructure is going away, to be replaced by "MC-JIT" (try passing -use-mcjit to lli). It sounds like you are working on the old JIT, so I suggest you work instead on getting MC-JIT working on powerpc. Ciao, Duncan. > I am currently working with PPC64 JIT support for LLVM. [LLVMdev] arch-specific predefines in LLVM's source
Hi all, My recent commit r187027 fixed a simple oversight of forgetting to check for __ppc__ (only checking __powerpc__), which broke my powerpc-apple-darwin8 stage1 tests, since the system gcc only provided __ppc__. I was wondering if this justifies using simpler macros like #define LLVM_PPC (defined(__ppc__) || defined(__powerpc__) ...) #define LLVM_PPC64 (defined(__ppc64__) ||

[LLVMdev] [patch] Fix problems with build LLVM using gcc 4.1.0 (gcc CVS mainline)
Hi! I have some problems with build current CVS version LLVM using GCC 4.1.0 (GCC CVS mainline version). 1) Build terminate with error: llvm[3]: Compiling SparcV8CodeEmitter.cpp for Debug build /usr/home/wanderer/pkg/build/llvm/obj/lib/Target/SparcV8/SparcV8GenCodeEmitter.inc:11: error: definition of 'unsigned int

[LLVMdev] PowerPC : Assertion `MovePCtoLROffset && "MovePCtoLR not seen yet?"' failed.
Hi all, I'm compiling current SVN HEAD on Linux/x86. The tests are failing on PowerPC due to the following assertion failure : JITTests: PPCCodeEmitter.cpp:152: unsigned int<unnamed>::PPCCodeEmitter:: getMachineOpValue(const llvm::MachineInstr&, const llvm::MachineOperand&) const: Assertion `MovePCtoLROffset && "MovePCtoLR not seen yet?"'

Calling printf works at least on OS X (I'm waiting for a reply whether this works on linux). [LLVMdev] Calling external functions failed on PowerPC
Hi, all I found the example code examples/HowToUseJIT.cpp also shows the same error. Attachment is the LLVM module created by HowToUseJIT. And here is the error, Running foo: %X4<def> = LDtoc <ga:@add1>, %X2 UNREACHABLE executed! Stack dump: 0. [patch] ffmpeg2theora A/V sync
Hi, ffmpeg2theora currently assumes that the first frame in the input file also corresponds to the first audio sample in the input file, which might not be true for many file formats. I have especially bad problems with MPEG-TS streams that I recorded via DVB-T (sync off by 0.5 seconds etc.). Encoding chapter-ranges from DVD might yield similar problems. The attached patch fixes that, using

[LLVMdev] Calling external functions failed on PowerPC
Hi, all I have a trouble with calling external functions on PowerPC. What I am doing is generating a LLVM IR first like this, - x86 call void @helper_shack_flush(%struct.CPUX86State* %62) noinline, !flags !12 - ppc call void @helper_shack_flush(%struct.CPUX86State* %62) noinline, !flags !10 After lowering above LLVM IR for x86 and ppc, it becomes: - x86 %RAX<def> = MOV64ri
