[LLVMdev] ExecutionEngine::create returns 0
What does it mean when ExecutionEngine::create returns 0?
Here's a simplified example:

[LLVMdev] The first two lines of llvm tutorial don't compile.
I took the first two lines of the sample program in the tutorial:
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv/lang/hlvm$ cat broken.cpp
#include "llvm/DerivedTypes.h"
#include "llvm/Module.h"
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv/lang/hlvm$
and tried to compile them using the llvm-dev in Debian testing:
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv/lang/hlvm$ g++ -o broken.o -c broken.cpp

You need to use the script 'llvm-config' to pass correct arguments to g
++:
g++ -o broken.o `llvm-config --cxxflags` broken.cpp

[LLVMdev] Could not access CVS for llvm
I tried to access the latest LLVM, since several messages here so far have
referred me to it. Now I have no experience with CVS-over-the-net. My
previous experiences with versoin control have been RCS and Monotone.
Brief summary:
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv$ mkdir llvm
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv$ cd llvm
hendrik at lovesong:~/dv/llvm$ cvs -d :pserver:anon at llvm.org:/var/cvs/llvm login

Hendrik,
You could also just "touch ~/.cvspass" to create the file which should
eliminate the warning. However, since you did a login, and it seemed
successful, chances are the file now exists (containing the blank
password for anon at llvm.org).

[LLVMdev] Error while linking LLVM files
Hi!
I'm trying to learn LLVM and I want to compile the Kaleidoscope compiler.
according to:
http://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/LangImpl3.html
I'm compiling it with:
clang++ -g -O3 test.cpp `llvm-config --cppflags --ldflags --libs core` -o
toy
and it indeed works.
The problem is that when using eclipse it forces me to divide the
compilation into two steps:
g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c

[LLVMdev] numeric limits of llvm Types?
Hi all,
can I access the numeric limits of the llvm types,
e.g. HalfTy, FloatTy, DoubleTy, etc.
in a fashion like the std numeric_limits tool?
std::numeric_limits<half>::min()
std::numeric_limits<half>::max()
In c++API, I want to initialize values and need to know the correct range
for the llvm types....

[LLVMdev] Problems with iterator.h
Just finished the compiling llvm without llvm-gcc from svn.
Tried it out. Got

[LLVMdev] Help with Mac OS X 10.6.2 build
Greetings,
I am having trouble getting the Kaleidoscope example to build from
tutorial #3 on Mac OS X 10.6.2. I didn't have too much trouble
getting llvm-2.6 and llvm-gcc-frontend to build. Thanks for the help.
Here are the steps I followed:

[LLVMdev] Seeing a crash with ConstantFP::get
It's in debug. I'm having a look at the assembler it's producing right
now and it's definitely a little odd for what should be a simple
assignment in zeroSignificand.

[LLVMdev] Seeing a crash with ConstantFP::get
Hola Dale,
I spent some time walking through what's going on with a friend of mine
from VStudio. Category is given 2 bits in the APFloat class definition.
It's sign extending the enum value for the comparisons when it loads it
out of the class, so the 2 becomes a -2 and the comparison fails. He
sent me a piece of code which I might be able to use to force the issue.
