[LLVMdev] Fatal error
Hi Everyone,
When I compile llvm 2.8 with the option --disable-optimized

Leopard with Ocaml 3.11, I get the following fatal error when it starts to
build
the ocaml docs.

[LLVMdev] r57974 & r57976 for PR2888
Pending positive confirmation in http://llvm.org/PR2886, I'd recommend
that r57974 and r57976 be pulled into the 2.4 release branch and
configure regenerated there.

[LLVMdev] Kaleidoscope Build Error
(cc'ing llvm-dev)
Hello Gregory,
i just recompiled llvm from scratch, and was able to build the ocaml
kaleidoscope bindings. Did you know the llvm's build system already
can compile the kaleidoscope tutorials for you? You can run this to
build them:
make BUILD_EXAMPLES=1
Or just cd into the examples directory in your build directory, and
run "make" there.
Anyway, I think the

[LLVMdev] Status of Ocaml bindings
Hi all,
I'm interested in the LLVM Ocaml bindings so I pulled the current
sources from SVN and built them. When I ran the test suite I got the
following stats:
# of expected passes 2631
# of unexpected failures 7
# of expected failures 11
It looks like some of the failures were due to the Ocaml parts of the
tests:

[LLVMdev] Kaleidoscope Build Problems - (OCaml)
Hello everyone...
I'm hoping that someone can give me insight as to why I am having problems
building the Kaleidoscope example for OCaml.
Platform: Mac OS 10.8.2
OCaml version: 4.00.1
LLVM version: 3.1
XCode version: 4.5.2
I successfully build the examples when running "gnumake BUILD_EXAMPLES=1"
in the OBJ_DIR, however when I try to build them from outside the build
tree (ie move

[LLVMdev] llvm 2.2 install and ocaml bindings
I've run into a problem with the ocaml bindings and the jit. It builds
fine without the jit, but when I try to include it it tries to use the
c object files from the build location, instead of the install
location:

[LLVMdev] llvm 2.2 install and ocaml bindings
Erick,
I see the problem. The llvm-config linker options are baked into the
ocaml library, which is good. But for the execution engine, that link
line includes the full paths to some .o files. Those paths come from
llvm-config, and they vary before and after installation. (Before
install, they point into the source tree as you're seeing.) You could
theoretically get working

[LLVMdev] llvm ocaml bindings
(ccing llvmdev) Hi Ranjit! I only ported Chris's tutorial and Gordon
did the vast majority of the bindings, so they deserve most of the
praise. I believe there are techniques for walking over the CFG. You
can load up code using Llvm_bitreader, use things like
Llvm.iter_globals, Llvm.iter_functions, and Llvm.iter_instrs to walk
over the module, and write out a new llmodule using

[LLVMdev] llvm ocaml bindings
Hi,
thanks Chris and Gordon for the fantasic infrastructure and ocaml
bindings and Erick for the prompt response!
I'm looking to use LLVM to write program analyses for
C/C++ programs, but to use Ocaml to write the analyses.
I did see there were bindings for iterating over:
* functions in a module [iter_functions]
* basic blocks in a functions [iter_blocks]
* instructions in a block

[LLVMdev] OCAML and ocamldoc requirements on building and installing LLVM
Jon,
LLVM seems to be now dependant by default on OCAML and ocamldoc. Can you please change this so OCAML is only built and enabled when an '--enable-ocaml' flag is set on 'configure'. As I cannot do 'make install' on Cygwin as ocamldoc is not availiable on Cygwin. Also really 95% of LLVM users are not either going to have ocaml installed or are going to be using it.

[LLVMdev] minor issue in LLVM ocamldoc
erick--
I noticed in the OCamldoc entries for [declare_qualified_global] and [define_qualified_global] that you've given the address space parameter the name [as], which is a reserved word in OCaml. The actual code doesn't use this name, which is why it compiles, but the OCamldoc output looks weird.

Yeah, its only a problem if you have OCaML installed but not ocamldoc.
Sorry for the noise,

[LLVMdev] 2.6 Configure doesn't check if OCAMLDOC is missing
Hi LLVM,
I was installing LLVM2.6 on a system without ocamldoc.
The configure generates OCAMLDOC with value NULL without warnings,
so it got errors at 'make install'. But I did not check if 2.7 fixed
this problem.

[PATCH 1/2] ocaml: Use ocamlfind to run ocamldoc.
Using 'ocamlfind ocamldoc' is much faster than running 'ocamldoc'
directly, because ocamlfind will run the native code program
'ocamldoc.opt' if it is available.
This change approximately halves the time taken to compile the ocaml
bindings.
