[LLVMdev] building llvm-gcc on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal
Hi,
I'm trying to build llvm-gcc-4.2 on Ubuntu 11.04 (the Natty Narwhal).
The "make" fails here, trying to build libgcc:

[LLVMdev] Problems building llvm-gcc-4.2 on ppc32, OS X 10.4.10
Hi, I'm guessing that no one has tried this exact combination yet.
I'm trying to build the gcc4.2 front end with current LLVM SVN
on a G4 Powerbook running 10.4.10.
I started with this:
../gcc4.2-trunk/configure
--prefix=$HOME/Documents/hpcl/LLVM/llvm-gcc-4-2/install
--enable-llvm=$HOME/Documents/hpcl/LLVM/llvm-svn-obj/
--with-gmp=$HOME/Documents/hpcl/LLVM/llvm-gcc-4-2/libdeps

[LLVMdev] LLVM build freezes in scratchbox, ARM target
Hi,
I am new to LLVM and have been trying to get it working on
scratchbox (ARM target). When I try to build llvm-2.1, the build
freezes with the following output..

[LLVMdev] Build problems with llvm-gcc
Hi there
I'm new to LLVM & am trying to build llvm-gcc.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.0.4. on an AMD64 processor.
I've had no problems with building the LLVM suite itself, but during
llvm-gcc compilation I am presented with the following error message - does
anybody happen to know if there is any remedy?

[LLVMdev] ld crashes with invalid pointer on Ubuntu 11.04 x86 when linking libgcc_s.so
This shouldn't be considered our bug (should it?). I'm going to
report it to Ubuntu.
I will restart my build, but does anyone else see this on Ubuntu
11.04? Note that I have a 32-bit machine with 2 GB of RAM and no
swap.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc build fail on RHEL v4 x86_64
gcc 3.4.x builds LLVM incorrectly on x86_64.
gcc 4.0 will get you much farther, but the llvm-test regression tests
still have massive problems.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc build fail on RHEL v4 x86_64
The machine is a Dell workstation with xeon processors. The OS is RHEL 4 AS
x86_64
gcc version is 3.4.6
I checked out the llvm-gcc from svn, configured with
../llvm-gcc/configure --prefix=$HOME/llvm-gcc-install
--enable-llvm=$HOME/llvmobj/ --enable-languages=c,c++ --enable-checking
--disable-shared --disable-multilib
and get the following error message:

[LLVMdev] cannot find -lgcc_s
I am trying to build llvm-gcc4.2-2.6.
My configure options are
$ /local/tools/lin32/llvm-gcc4.2-2.6/bin/llvm-gcc -v
Using built-in specs.
Target: i686-linux
Configured with: ../llvm-gcc4.2-2.6.source/configure --prefix=/local/tools/lin32/llvm-gcc4.2-2.6 --disable-nls --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix --enable-languages=c,c++ --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld --target=i686-linux

[LLVMdev] OT: intel darwin losing primary target status
Jack,
I think there is an extra dimension to darwin that might be confusing
things. Darwin uses two-level-name-space. That means that at build
time the linker records where it found each dylib (SO) symbol. (It
records the path the dylib supplied as its "install name" - not just
the leafname as SO_NEEDED does.)
On a SnowLeopard system you *can* link against /usr/lib/libgcc_s.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc build fail on RHEL v4 x86_64
Already have concerning gcc 3.4: http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1056
As for llvm-test issues, quite frankly I don't know how well they're
expected to work on x86_64. No one has jumped in and said they run fine
on their x86_64 system. Maybe they're code generator bugs, or maybe
they're portability issues for FreeBSD (though I never saw such massive
problems with 32-bit

I can't build llvm-gcc4.2 on x86-32 Linux.
What is kext64, and how do I disable it? (I suppose I don't need it on a
32-bit platform?)
