[LLVMdev] Better llvm-ld support for frameworks on Mac OS X
[ resending after subscribing ]
I would like to be able to compile and link the following two program
into native executables. These are a vastly reduced testcase, so
ignore for a moment the fact that the native compiler driver might
have default -L/-F search paths and -lSystem by default.
$ cat test1.c
extern char *zlibVersion(void);
extern int puts(char *);
int main(int argc, char

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] BlocksRuntime updates for Linux
The attached diff cleans up the BlocksRuntime/ directory of compiler-
rt for better portability, eliminates compiler warnings, and adds
support to the cmake build to install the results.
More specifically, the changes:
1) Remove cmake-specific #define usage from the exported Block.h/
Block_private.h headers, since clients won't know what to set. These
are moved into runtime.c as

Sounds like your system compiler doesn't support gcc-style builtin
atomics. Please use a different compiler?

[LLVMdev] [llvm-commits] [PATCH] BlocksRuntime updates for Linux
There's an Apple internal bug for that. I've cloned it to Bugzilla as:
<http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=5034> Implement
__builtin_eh_return_data_regno()
I can probably make the cmake configure stage fail up front if none of
the supported mechanisms are found. I'll look at that. Thanks for the
feedback!

The problem isn't mismatched #if/#endif. The

No, As it worked fine before.
I can't see the #if that goes with +#elif defined(__WIN32__) as you
removed -#if TARGET_OS_MAC.
Please go over your #if / #endif blocks and trail the #endif with a
comment. I am willing to bet there is a problem there.
Thanks for your time,
Edward.

compiling packages without Framework and CoreFoundation options on OSX
I've been trying to get R+PostgreSQL+PL/R to work together on a OSX
machine without the Framework and CoreFoundation options and have
noticed some suspicious switches when compiling packages.
I've installed R (on OSX) with the following ./configure:
./configure \
CC="gcc -arch i386" \
CXX="g++ -arch i386" \
OBJC="gcc -arch i386" \

auth_username_translation and LTMP problem
auth_username_translation seems to be appliet on RCPT TO address of LTMP
transport.
Why dovecot is doing that?
And better question - is there a way to disable auth_username_translation for
LTMP but leave enabled for the rest (imap, pop3 etc) ?
Background:
I'm doing
auth_username_translation = @=
to allow logins like aaa at bbb.pl to be internally translated to aaa=bbb.pl.
That works

Mac R spinning wheel with Package Manager (PR#14005)
Full_Name: James Howison
Version: 2.9.2
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8
Submission from: (NULL) (128.2.222.163)
For quite a while now I have been unable to use Package Manager to install
programs. I get the spinning wheel and long lock ups. This happens when I hit,
"get list", but that eventually returns, seemingly successfully. However it
also happens when I try to install a package, the whole

Ld64.lld cannot find Foundation framework
Dear LLVM community I need some help please.
I want to use LLVM's clang and lld within a MacOSX sandboxed app. This is because sandboxing does not allow calls to /usr/bin/clang.
The clang binary works fine to compile a file, but ld64.lld comes up with the error "cannot find framework".
However similar arguments using /usr/bin/ld instead of ld64.lld works fine.
Here are the

[LLVMdev] does new EH require newer linker?
Is the new EH scheme completely compatible with the existing linker in Xcode 4.1?
I am finding that today's changes break the ability to link xplor-nih with dragonegg
under FSF gcc 4.6.2...

gcc and g++ errors while compiling R on Linux ppc64
I was going through the config.log after installing R successfully on a
Linux ppc64 machine. However, I could not install the MCMCpack and looked at
the config.log file for gcc and g++ errors.I found some of them and have
pasted them below. Please let me know if they can affect the installation of
other packages on R.
