[LLVMdev] Next GC patch for review
This patch adds a string attribute to each function which enables GC codegen and selects the metadata format to generate. In order to avoid adding a word to each Function for programs which do not use garbage collection (e.g. llvm-gcc, clang), this value is stored in an on-the- side table. — Gordon gc-5a-funattr.patch (+222 -22): docs/LangRef.html (+22 -3)

[LLVMdev] Question about Global Variable
Hi, Sorry for bothering you guys again. I got problem when I am trying to recover the Global Variable Initial value. What I did is like the following ConstantArray *Cstr = dyn_cast<ConstantArray>(gI->getInitializer()); // the above instruction enable me to get the content of initial string of global variable, like char a[10] ="test global"; And then I make some change for

Character string to R object
I've been creating some R tools that manipulate objective functions for optimization. In so doing, I create a character string with R code, and then want to have it in my workspace. Currently -- and this works fine -- I write the code out, then use source() to bring it in again. Example: cstr<-"jack<-function(x){\n cat(\"Silly x:\")\n print(x) \n }\n" write(cstr,

[LLVMdev] Re: Hide visible string in variable (Chris Lattner)
Hi, Thanks so much at first. > Here are some observations: > > > for C level, > > > > char a[]="global string test"; > > for(i=0;i<strlen(a);i++){ > > a[i]= a[i]^RANDMON; > > } > > If you compile this C code, "global string test" will occur in the program > binary, so you have not obfuscated anything. [LLVMdev] Question about insert call func with pionter parameter
Hi, I got a problem when I am trying to insert a call function with pointer arguments. The function C proto-type is the following, void stat_func(char *); >ConstantArray *Cstr = dyn_cast<ConstantArray>(gI->getInitializer()); ...... >Function *exFunc = M->getOrInsertFunction("stat_func", Type::VoidTy, PointerType::get(Type::SByteTy),0); >std::vector<Value*>

[LLVMdev] Re:question about Insert callInst to call a function in library
Thanks Chris, but the method you mentioned is not what I want. Maybe I didn't make it clear. As you said, /runtime/libprofile is runtime library for the following function. llvm_start_func_profiling llvm_start_block_profiling llvm_start_basic_block_tracing llvm_trace_basic_block And those above functions can be inserted into basic block etc for getting profile. However, those

/usr/include/dovecot/str.h
FYI, I am building on alpine 3.10 and 3.11 I am getting this build[1] error. I think these header files of dovecot are not correct. Or are they? I changed line 35 in /usr/include/dovecot/str.h from str_append_max(str, cstr, max_len); to str_append_max(str, (const char *)cstr, max_len); [1] /usr/include/dovecot/str.h: In function 'void str_append_n(string_t*, const void*, size_t)':

[LLVMdev] RE: Question about Global Variable
Thanks for your reply. After I change Cstr to gI, it compiled successfully. Thanks again. Another question is for constructing getelementpt. // C code char gStrA[10] = "test str"; // here is Global variable,gStrA and initializer "test str" char gStrB[10]= "test str2"; main(){ int = i; char *pGVars[20]; // here, the pGVar is for storing the address of each

[LLVMdev] <badref> showed up when duplicating a list of dependent instructions
I collected a sequence of LLVM instructions, want to make a copy of each and insert them into a PREVIOUS location inside the same function (all globals and locals are properly declared before the PREVIOUS location). Here is the list of instructions I want to duplicate and insert: 0 %90 = load i32* @strstart, align 4 1 %91 = add i32 %90, 2 2 %88 = load i32* @ins_h, align 4 3 %92 =

Windows 2K outperform Linux/Samba very much?
Hi, all: I want to check small files' property(such as date, path, and so on) frequently. The files are stored in netwrok driver and their sizes vary from 2KB to 5KB. I found that Windows 2K outperform Linux/Samba very much after I campared the bench results. I am very confused about it and who can explain it? The computers' configurations are as follows: 1. PC Client It

[LLVMdev] Difference between 2.9 and 3.0 in intel ASM printer
Hi, I'm almost there with my Yasm printer, however, I've stumbled upon this. [PATCH v2 3/8] rust: drm: add driver abstractions
Implement the DRM driver abstractions. The `Driver` trait provides the interface to the actual driver to fill in the driver specific data, such as the `DriverInfo`, driver features and IOCTLs. [libnbd PATCH] RFC: Add bindings for Rust language
This is just a basic ugly support, not meant to be pushed (at least for now). There is quite a lot missing, but there is an example which shows that it really works. And valgrind reports that all allocations were freed. The way the code is generated is also not nice, I wish there was more code actually written in some files and not generated by the generator (as much hard-coded static strings as

[LLVMdev] supporting dwarf relocations
In ELF .o files with debug info, there are relocations applied to the DWARF sections. For example, when emitting offsets into the stringpool, we emit a relocation. How should we support this? llvm-dwarfdump currently works by finding the relevant dwarf sections and passing them in to lib/DebugInfo. The relocations can be iterated over in lib/Object using the relocation_iterator. Should dwarfdump
