[LLVMdev] Bug in ARM Thumb inline asm?
I'm porting the musl C library to ARM Thumb. It looks like inline asm is failing in some cases. Here's one: The lseek system call looks like this: ... off_t result; return syscall(SYS__llseek, fd, offset>>32, offset, &result, whence) ? -1 : result; ... Which eventually goes through this macro: static inline long __syscall5(long n, long a, long b, long c,

[LLVMdev] Thumb-2 code generation error in Apple LLVM at all optimization levels
This would be best reported to Apple's Radar bug database at http://bugreport.apple.com/ but its whole website has been down for a while. I have a 100% reproducible Thumb-2 code generation error that occurs at all of the levels of optimization available in the Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard build settings GUI: -O0, -O1, -O2, -O3 and -Os. However the bad machine code only occurs in Release

R: one bananna aov() question
Hello world, I'm trying to do an anova on data in data.set, dependent variable is a column named "dep.var", grouping variable is in a column called "indep.var", and is.factor(indep.var) is TRUE... why can't I just do aov(dep.var ~ indep.var, data = data.set)? What have I done to deserve this?! What gives? Am I missing something totlly obvious? R-base-1.0.0-1,

{ARM} IfConversion does not detect BX instruction as a branch
Hi all, I got a silly bug when compiling our project with the latest Clang. Here's the outputted assembly: > tst r3, #255 > strbeq r6, [r7] > ldreq r6, [r4, r6, lsl #2] > strne r6, [r7, #4] > ldr r6, [r4, r6, lsl #2] > bx r6 For the code to execute correctly, either the _ldr_ should be a _ldrne_ instruction or the _ldreq_ instruction should be removed. The error seems to

[LLVMdev] Add support for ldr pseudo instruction in ARM integrated assembler
Both armasm and gnu as support an ldr pseudo instruction for loading constants that lowers to either a mov, movn, or a pc-relative ldr from the constant pool. It would be great if the llvm integrated assembler could support this feature as well. For example, using gnu as to compile this code: .text foo: ldr r0, =0x1 ldr r0, =-0x1 ldr r0, =0x1000001 ldr r0, =bar

Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
Hello again Christian, I've posted https://reviews.llvm.org/D55709 to see if we can get the documentation on how to cross-compile compiler-rt improved. I'll be out of office until next year so I may be a bit slow to respond to any follow ups. Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
Hello Christian, I'd expect that adding the library paths (-L) from gcc -v should fix the unable to find -lc, -lm but it won't fix the -lclang_rt.builtins-armv6m.a . To get clang_rt.builtins-armv6m.a you will need to cross compile compiler-rt for v6m and copy it to /usr/local/myclang/lib/clang/8.0.0/lib/baremetal . Beware that building compiler-rt for v6m does need quite a bit of fighting

NHW Project - good quality improvement & new -l14 very high compression quality setting
Hello, I am still progressing with very high compression and I have corrected a processing, so now very high compression (-l10 to -l13 quality settings) has really better precision and so better quality. I have also released a first draft of a new -l14 very high compression quality setting. More at: http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/ Just a remark, the entropy coding schemes start to be less

[LLVMdev] Prevent clang from replacing code with library calls
Clang optimizes code by replacing some parts with efficient library functions. For example the following code: for (i=0;i<size;++i) dest[i]=src[i]; will be compiled to (target=ARM assembly): bl __aeabi_memcpy(PLT) The compile cmd: /usr/share/android-arm-l14-toolchain/bin/clang31 -cc1 -triple arm-none-linux-androideabi -S -target-abi aapcs-linux -target-cpu arm1022e
