[LLVMdev] [patch] gccld not passing -export-dynamic to gcc for link
gccld passes -shared through if it's generating a shared library, but if you're compiling a program that needs to have its symbols externally accessible, it doesn't pass -export-dynamic through to gcc for the final link. The attached patch fixes this. I've tested with a small test case I sent Chris, and with Python; both seem to work. I also fixed some inaccurate comments in

[LLVMdev] Problem linking and JITing code through C++-API
I have a frontend that generates some LLVM bitcode that needs to be linked with other bitcode (its runtime library), which I generate from C++ source using Clang. If I write the output of my program to disk, link it with llvm-link, and then run it with lli, everything works perfectly. But if I try to perform the linking and running steps in my main program, I get this error during

[LLVMdev] Problem linking and JITing code through C++-API
Yes. It appears that a bad reference to DataLayout was passed to MachineJumpTableInfo::getEntrySize. I'm using LLVM as a pre-compiled Ubuntu package for this work, so I can't do much more in GDB without building from source. Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00000000007565f0 in llvm::MachineJumpTableInfo::getEntrySize(llvm::DataLayout const&) const () (gdb)

[LLVMdev] Problem linking and JITing code through C++-API
Hi Andy, It looks like you're using LLVM's old JIT, rather than MCJIT? The old JIT has been removed from the mainline, and is no longer supported. I'd recommend building your own copy of LLVM from the development branch (as Reed suggested) where MCJIT is used by default - this may fix your issue. If you want to stick with the precompiled binaries, then you should change: #include

[LLVMdev] questions about context
Hi, I am trying to load another bytecode file in one pass. I checked the opt.cpp, it uses following to load a bytecode file: ... LLVMContext &Context = getGlobalContext(); ... SMDiagnostic Err; // Load the input module... std::auto_ptr<Module> M; M.reset(ParseIRFile(InputFilename, Err, Context)); ... My question is in the runOnModule method where I want to load

[LLVMdev] LLVM command options in Visual Studio
Thank you for your kind explanation. I did it as you mentioned. That is, I set '-march=x86 hello.bc' in the Command Arguments. (I also set my compiled LLC, i.e., LLVM_ROOT_DIR\win32\debug\llc.exe, in the property name Command.) But, when I made a breakpoint in main( ) of llc.cpp and then started to debug I found the 'InputFilename'(llc.cpp:176) is shown like {???}. Therefore it

[LLVMdev] Help on LLVM Instrumentation
Hi , I am using LLVM for my Post Graduate course project on Optimization. I am trying to do some insrtumentation to the bytecode.I 've been going through your Instrumentation code for the past few days in /llvm/lib/Transforms/Instrumentation folder and finally found two ways of instrumentation : 1) injecting LLVM bytecode instructions 2) calling an external C function. I am trying both and

[LLVMdev] A few beginner level questions..
1. If we run a few passes in a sequence ..is the bytecode file transformed after each pass in sequence i.e if we have a) opt -pass1 -pass2 -pass3 < in.bc > out.bc b)opt -pass1 -pass2 < in.bc > tmp.bc opt -pass3 < tmp.bc > out.bc are the above two equivalent ? what I basically want is to run my pass on an optimised bytecode , so should i optimize it and get a new bytecode

[LLVMdev] Re:question about Insert callInst to call a function in library
Thanks Chris, but the method you mentioned is not what I want. Maybe I didn't make it clear. As you said, /runtime/libprofile is runtime library for the following function. llvm_start_func_profiling llvm_start_block_profiling llvm_start_basic_block_tracing llvm_trace_basic_block And those above functions can be inserted into basic block etc for getting profile. However, those

[LLVMdev] Re: LLVMdev digest, Vol 1 #292 - 4 msgs
Hi, Thank Brian Gaeke so much. Following TraceBasicBlocks.cpp, I modified the code as below and could insert instruction or function I need into anywhere in Module. But it works well without BB->getInstList().push_back(InstrCall), and if I add the BB->getInstList().push_back() following new CallInst(), I got error information when runing opt. What is the reason for it? And is it necessary

How to fix broken ogg/theora files
Hi there, I haven't been on this list until now, so I wasn't aware of this problem until last night ;-) - sorry for that. I am working on a patch for oggCut for that issue (looks good actually but I would like to do some testing befor I can release a patch.) Normal players are not effected by the page time misordering, so I took this issue as "minor". The reason for the

Convert skeleton to "regular" format

If you fixed the problem, I would be happy for a patch :-). > Well, the fix was more of a hack :) I was using oggvideotools 0.7a and the fix is removing the output from lines 189-191 in oggCut.cpp. The toString() method seems to trigger the segfault. [LLVMdev] Plea for help
OK, details: I run RH8 (gcc 3.2.something), RH9 (gcc 3.2.2-5) and Fedora. Problems are the same across all setups. Hardware is Athlon 1600+ and half a giga RAM. Runs fail with an assertion when the linear scan allocator is enabled, but runs without problems otherwise. On RH9 (the system I have access to while generating this email) I have the following details: > 1) The LLVM assembly

Errno::ENOENT (No such file or directory
Hi, I have my RoR deployed on Linux server. My application has "browse file" section where it selects the file from users machine (e.g. - D:/kw/loaddata/New/abc.txt) and passes it to convertTo method But the path is not being resolved. It throws me an error: Errno::ENOENT (No such file or directory - D:/kw/loaddata/New/abc.txt): .//app/controllers/releases_controller.rb:35:in

[LLVMdev] line number information
Thanks for your help. I took a look at http://llvm.org/docs/SourceLevelDebugging.html and it seems like this doesn't give you much in the way of line number information. If you know what source line you are interested in then you can set a breakpoint, but suppose you want to know the line number in the source code for some arbitrary bytecode instruction. In my particular case, I have a pass
