Hi, I'm interested in developing a 64-bit operating system to run inside a version of BOCHS compiled with x86-64 support enabled (bochs-2.2.6-x86-64.exe) that I found on the web. Can I use LLVM as a GCC replacement for OS development? I need to generate 64-bit x86-64 assembly language output which I can then assemble with the normal 'as' and link via 'ld' commands. How do

Hi Koen, The process to build llvm-gcc as a crosscompiler is basically the same as build a normal gcc as crosscompiler. The differences: you need a LLVM installed (compiled for the host). You must configure llvm-gcc with --enable-llvm. Problems: - Today LLVM supports ARM/EABI, but llvm-gcc don't. You must apply the patch:

Hello, Everyone. I'm currently trying to bootstrap llvm-gcc4 on mingw32 platform. Everything (except some small fixes) seems to be fine: stage1 finished successfully. I'm linking with debug variant of LLVM, since linker bug prevents release builds. Hello, Everyone. All blackmagic (playing with pwd, etc) in my build description has gone with patched bash (pwd builtin was just hardly disabled). It's not good, I myself prefer modifying libstdc++ configure script to use PWD_CMD environmental variable as main gcc ones.
