2.5.5 build ignores $CPPFLAGS
(I'm not subscribed; Mail-Followup-To set.) [PATCH] configure.ac: don't try to unset -g from CFLAGS
The sed expression is wrong, any flags with '-g' in any position gets zapped, for example: -mfloat-gprs=double (for powerpc e500) -> -mfloatprs=double. Which gives build errors and is perfectly valid in real use scenarios to switch from e500v1 (single precision) code to e500v2 (double precision) code. [LLVMdev] BuildMode
I'm continuing my quest to integrate _GLIBCXX_DEBUG into the config system. I now have things at a point where I can configure llvm to build with -D_GLIBCXX_DEBUG and the llvm-gcc will pick up the correct CPPFLAGS automatically. One thing I noticed in the llvm Makefile.rules is this: # If DISABLE_ASSERTIONS=1 is specified (make command line or configured), # then disable assertions by

UniMRCP and Asterisk 14
When I look at the lastest UniMRCP manual, they only mention as high as Asterisk 13. Does anybody know if I need to do anything to allow it to work on Asterisk 14 and, if so, what that is?

Minor CFLAGS-related cleanups
Hi Erik, similar to what I did for libsndfile, this is to simplify the handling of adding -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2. Regards David

Wine + serial port basically hangs system
I'm trying to use Wine to run a program called heavy weather - its a windows only program that interfaces with a weather station that I have through a serial port. I was able to get the program up and running with wine. Then, I couldn't get it to connect at all to the weather station. After much too long, I finally realized that the problem was that my permissions on /dev/ttyS0 were too

Updating flac include problems
Updating the fink flac to 1.0.4, it won't compile because finds the headers of the previous version in /sw/include, because the CPPFLAGS/CFLAGS are being put before the local includes: (configure with ./configure --prefix=/sw --mandir=/sw/share/man ) gcc -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"\" -DPACKAGE_STRING=\"\"

[PATCH] Separate CFLAGS and CPPFLAGS
If you want to override CFLAGS on the make line (eg. "make CFLAGS='-O3'"), you lose because you end up stomping preprocessor flags as well. Preprocessor should be in CPPFLAGS. The following patch takes care of this. -Fred Index: Makefile.in =================================================================== RCS file: /cvs/Darwin/Services/OpenSSH/openssh/Makefile.in,v

[LLVMdev] API design
Hi, I've been running LLVM with _GLIBCXX_DEBUG (extra checks) turned on to see what would happen, and it's been a complete disaster. The major problem is the use of this API: new CallInst(V, &Args[0], Args.size()); repeated throughout LLVM. When Args is empty, Args[0] is invalid, even if the next operation is taking the address. Trying to fix it illustrates the depth of the

Updated CFLAGS patches and make test compilation conditional
Hi Erik, I've found a middleground for the problem of setting default CFLAGS. I've gone back to setting them if {C,CXX,CPP,LD}FLAGS are unset at the onset of the configure script (i.e., the user hasn't specified anything) and then proceed to set them to the defaults as before. This has been suggested before: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/autoconf/2006-04/msg00022.html In
