OpenSSL
Hello anyone used OpenSSL before?
Why do we need to pay for expensive SSL certs when there is OpenSSL
which is provided free? Is there a difference?
I''ve got an ecommerce website, and wondering if OpenSSL is enough?
Your thoughts will be appreciated

How to configure ssl cert chain in dovecot 10-ssl.conf file
Hi there,
Does anyone know how to do this:
"Put all the certificates in the ssl_cert file. For example when using a certificate signed by TDC the correct order is:
Dovecot's public certificate
TDC SSL Server CA
TDC Internet Root CA
Globalsign Partners CA "
I try to set these parameters in the conf.d/10-ssl.conf as below, but it seems doesn't work.

client certs with godaddy ssl cert
I've read the client ssl cert section in the wiki and it talks about using a
self signed cert, if I am using a commercial cert, in this case godaddy, how
do I implement a self signed cert for the client side and have dovecot make
use of this? I know the mechanics of setting up the self signed ca, the
question is more what configuration changes do I need to make in dovecot to
handle both

SSL Certificate Chain Support
Greetings.
I was wondering if there were any plans to add support for an SSL
certificate chain file?
This is useful to provide a valid certificate chain for lower cost
signing authorities.
I'm afraid that I'm not 100% positive of the implementation
requirements. Although it does seem that OpenSSL supports this concept.
I am aware that Apache HTTPD (via mod_ssl) and Courier-IMAP offer

www.mydomain.org and mydomain.org should resolve to the same IP
Hi list,
I am having a debate with one of my clients where I administer their
domain and storage server but the website is hosted by godaddy.
thus www.mydomain.org goes to one of godaddy's servers but the
mydomain.org and mail.mydomain.org and ns1.mydomain.org all go elsewhere.
My website designer has been convinced by the godaddy web design team

hi all,
I wish to just have secure browsing for my application.
no credit cards or anything like that just secure browser usage is the goal.
I can self sign a certificate (I already have) on my servers but for
"anyone" accessing the server
you see this "nasty" message about "untrusted sight " and all that.
This will all be intranet type usage for the server.

well, with some help I've made a fair amount of progress on my box.
It's working out much easier than I had anticipated and perhaps my notes
will be useful some day.
I have two questions...
Here is where I am:

login = imap

4.0 stopped working after updating xubuntu 13.04
Hi
I got some strange issues on my samba4.0.1 install yesterday. It
happened a while after updating my xubuntu server 13.04 not 13.10.
Everything seems to be working fine except shares. Kerberos
authentication seem to function properly, also DNS works fine but shares
seem semi-broken.
I can't mount any shares on my Windows box, including netlogon,
profiles. I have one share that is

Hi all,
i have had sip TLS with an own signed certificate (using the
ast_tls_cert script) running on asterisk-1.8.8 - i then have updated

Dovecot replication over TCP/SSL, certificate error
Hi All,
I'm running TCP-based dsync replication on two dovecot nodes. Nowdays i
tried to enable SSL (TCPS).
I changed mail_replica prefix from tcp:* to tcps:* and added ssl=yes to the
inet_listener.
Then on running *doveadm sync* i'm getting the following message:
"
*doveadm(example at example.com <example at example.com>): Error: Couldn't

Improper listening on IMAPS
I want Dovecot handling IMAPS.
/etc/dovecot.conf:
protocols = imaps
imaps_listen = *
ssl_disable = no
ssl_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem
ssl_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/dovecot.pem
The problem is that Dovecot is not listening on 993 port, or there's
something listening on 993, but it does not introduce itself.
There's no problem if Dovecot listens on 143 (IMAP).

SSL cert problems.
I'm really racking my brain trying to figure this one out here. I am
running a pop3 server for remote offices on CentOS 5.2. We purchased a
SSL cert from Verisign and installed it on our dovecot server, but I
continue to get failure problems with the cert and I don't know where to
go from here.
here is some info about our config:

Installing an SSL Cert
HI All,
I am considering buying this:
http://www.godaddy.com/Compare/gdcompare_ssl.aspx?isc=sslqgo003a
Since I have a domain that will be collecting data and processing payments.
Where can I find instructions on how to install the certificate?
Do I have to run another domain or sub domain for the store? Or can I just run the whole domain on https?
Thanks,
-Jason
