LLVM 2.0 Progress Report
Hi Everyone, I'm happy to say that LLVM has made many leaps and bounds since the last update in November. Because we are bumping the major version number with this release, we're letting the release go for twice as long as our planned release schedule (6 months instead of 3). We are currently half way through the LLVM 2.0 development cycle. So far, many important and invasive changes

[LLVMdev] Intrinsics Change
Developers, As part of PR411, I have made several of the intrinsic functions non- overloaded. While the assembler and bytecode reader are backwards compatible, front-end writers should start using the non-overloaded versions of the intrinsics. The llvm-gcc has already been updated to generate the new intrinsic names. Other front-ends will start seeing warnings about the names of intrinsics that

WARN in drm_crtc.c:1992 on 3.11-rc2
Hello, I've started seeing the following warning in 3.11-rc2. [In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a patch applied that tries to implement drm_planes, which I might have done completely incorrectly, but looking around it doesn't seem related. I'm definitely not invoking any of the planes functionality right now. See http://paste.debian.net/hidden/cf8b3a2, plus a call to the

[LLVMdev] Metadata/Value split has landed

With the patch alone, the void* overload of addGarbageObject() was being used by MDNode::getTemporary(), so I had to cast the object as an MDNode*: diff --git a/lib/IR/Metadata.cpp b/lib/IR/Metadata.cpp

There aren't any leaks to be had there, since they're allocated in a custom allocator. They're

[LLVMdev] Idioms for retrieving global symbols and inheritance
Hello, I have a couple of doubts, as listed below: 1. To list all the global variables in the module, I am iterating using type_iterator and for each Type I get, I am using value_iterator to iterate over Values . In the second iteration I am getting unexpected results. For each type obtained from type_iterator->second, value_iterator->first produces the same list as what

Operator overloading for custom classes
Hi, I need some help to get some of the object orientation, specifically the methods that overload the basic arithmetic operations, from sample C++ code to R. I don't have experience with such advanced language features inside of R. So I was wondering if some of you could help me out in this regard. I have written a simple demonstration of a forward mode automatic differentiator in C++ and

Incremental file-list recursion has landed in CVS
For those that like to assist in the testing of rsync, the CVS version now defaults to doing an incremental file-list scan when it is recursing through the directories. This avoids keeping the whole file list in memory, and allows the transfer to start working on changed files before it has completed the recursive scan of the sending side. The code appears to be working well so far, but there

Help wanted: Overloading an Intinsic
Hi David, The error shows that the clang source code uses this intrinsic as well, but in the old form. You need to modify the clang source code (where this intrinsic is used) to consider the overloaded operands. The assert would show the trace where clang uses this intrinsic. Hope this helps, Anna > On Jul 26, 2016, at 3:21 PM, David Noursi via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org>

Persp Plot
I am trying to graph two planes on the same graph using persp(). I can only get one plane to plot at a time. Can someone explain how I can graph two planes on the same graph using persp? I've looked throught the documentation, but cannot find any references to appending a persp plot. Thanks. Sincerely yours, Mark J. Lamias Statistical Consultant

Help wanted: Overloading an Intinsic
Hello All, I have been modifying LLVM a project of mine, and have encountered issues with overloading an intrinsic function. I have defined two types, abit (which is mapped, in Intrinsics.td, to i128) and qbit (accordingly mapped to i16). I would like my intrinsic function, CNOT(x,y), to accept either an abit or a qbit for each argument, so I overload with iAny and llvm_anyint_ty, as seemed to

Multi Head Cube rotation
Hi, I pulled compiz from GIT yesterday to see if I could get proper multi-head support. I think the current status is great, but I have one little suggestion to make. The current behavior is that we have two viewpoints of the "cube" (it's more like a body with eight side planes now). If it's rotated one step we skip one of the planes. Rotating four times is enough to go round

I want to add two Horizontal planes at hight z=2 and z=3. Those two planes should look like "bottom" of that 3D plot
