[LLVMdev] ThisCall / Compilation problems
Hi all, A few things. Firstly, I've got a working implementation of the X86ThisCall calling convention, but I'm unsure how to go about submitting it. (I'm not really sure how to go about creating patch files etc, but would like to contribute to the project). Also, I'm using MS Visual C++ Express, and there are a few things that stop llvm1.9 (and the current CVS release) from

[LLVMdev] RFC: Tail call optimization X86
Hi Arnold, Thanks for the patch. Some questions and commons: 1. Have you test it against the llvm test suite? Does it work if fp elimination optimization is turned off? 2. Please follow llvm coding convention and make sure every line fits in 80 columns. 3. enum NameDecorationStyle { None, StdCall, - FastCall + FastCall, + FastCC // the normal fastcc calling convention }; Why is

The build problems with VC++ 7.1 have been fixed. If VC++ 8.0 still has problems, please mail me the build log.

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] New calling convention for use by GHC
OK, new patch attached. Hopefully in time for 2.7. Chris Lattner wrote: > 1) is the GHC calling conv intended to be target specific? If it is x86 specific, it should get an X86 prefix. If not, it should move up to be #10 after Cold. No its intended to be supported on any platforms that GHC is supported on, which is just x86 and SPARC at the moment. At the moment I've just done X86, will

[LLVMdev] building llvm on Windows
I tried to compile on Windows ( using the win32/llvm.sln in MSVC Express 2008 ) the new 2.3 branch and here are the results: 1. I needed to copy the file Configure.exe.embed.manifest to Configure.exe.intermediate.manifest . This is a bug from the previous llvm release (2.2) 2. I copied the file SimplifyLibCalls.cpp from lib/Transforms/Scalar to lib/Transforms/IPO. I think the position of

Tail call optimization is getting affected due to local function related optimization with IPRA
I have tried out the following code which examines each call site in a module for tail call and do not perform optimization in such case: On Wed, Jun 29, 2016 at 12:34 AM, Mehdi Amini <mehdi.amini at apple.com> wrote: > > On Jun 28, 2016, at 3:01 PM, Matthias Braun <matze at braunis.de> wrote: > > > On Jun 28, 2016, at 11:34 AM, Mehdi Amini via llvm-dev < >

[LLVMdev] RFC: Tail call optimization X86
Hi Evan, I incoporated the changes you request but to the following i have got a question: > Also, moving the option > there will allow us to change fastcc ABI (callee popping arguments) > only when this option is on. See Chris' email: I am not to sure on that. because that would make modules compiled with the flag on incompatible with ones compiled without the flag off as
