[LLVMdev] Release 1.6 LLVM-Cfrontend build error on cygwin
Dear llvmdev, I am new to LLVM , but have a task on writing a LLVM backend to generate some architecture specific assembly file. Here is my cygwin build setting: GCC 3.4.4 , BIN UTILITY 2.15 ,and all other packages of the right version listed on the LLVM Getting Started doc. I have successfully built Release 1.6 LLVM. All the tools has been installed there /usr/local/bin . But I

Just to make stuff clear: you'll have to download pthreadGC1.dll, rename it to pthreadGC.dll and put it somewhere in your PATH. All try to build all future versions of binaries

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM under Mingw. Part I: tools-only
Hello, Everyone. Now I have some spare time and I've decided to build LLVM on Mingw. I've grab the latest 1.7 release (not CVS snapshot). Here are some issues fixed during the build. Now I'm preparing gcc build. So, I think, there will some other "parts" 1. Prerequisites 1.1 GCC 3.4.5 from mingw.org site. $ gcc --version gcc.exe (GCC) 3.4.5 (mingw special) Copyright (C)

Proposal for Mach-O support in llvm-objcopy: section renaming
Hi, I'm going to implement Mach-O support in llvm-objcopy. Before working on this, I'd like to hear your thoughts how llvm-objcopy should handle Mach-O section names. By convention, Mach-O section names are denoted by "<segment name>,<section name>". However, GNU objcopy renames them in the following rule [1]: - If the section name is well-known, rename it to an

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM under Mingw. Part I: tools-only
Hello, Jeff. You wrote Saturday, April 29, 2006, 10:45:02 PM: JC> Yes, I know mingw doesn't support dbghelp. I can still rant about it :) ;) Well. Maybe this library will be included in some next versions of mingw's win32api package. Anyway, we can make such library just "on-fly" from the corresponding .dll. JC> This is what's already there. [RFC] Making .eh_frame more linker-friendly
I performed tests basing on first diff of https://reviews.llvm.org/D40352. (Creates .eh_frame for each .text.*, sets SHF_LINK_ORDER and .sh_link of created .eh_frame section to point to corresponding .text.) With use of GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.29.51.20171006 it reports errors when linking sample apps: ~/LLVM/Release/bin/clang++ test.cpp -ffunction-sections -o test.o /usr/local/bin/ld: .eh_frame

Should we switch to --hash-style=both by default in LLD ?
Hi ! During linking LLD and other linkers builds a static hash table for dynamic symbols, so that in runtime dynamic linker can use this table and find symbols faster. --hash-style=style linker option is used to select the hash type: "Set the type of linker's hash table(s). style can be either "sysv" for classic ELF ".hash" section, "gnu" for new style GNU

[LLD/ELF] - Should we implement .note.gnu.property and/or Intel CET in LLD ?
Linux GABI [1] introduced new .note.gnu.property section which contains a program property note which describes special handling requirements for linker and run-time loader. LLD does not support .note.gnu.property yet. GABI specifies 2 types of entries: GNU_PROPERTY_STACK_SIZE and GNU_PROPERTY_NO_COPY_ON_PROTECTED: * GNU_PROPERTY_STACK_SIZE: Its pr_data field contains an integer in the format

[LLVMdev] Cygwin binaries

See following link for CFE :- http://illuvium.com/download/ It maybe a bit out of date. I believe the CFE maybe broken at the moment, at least the Cygwin nightly test reports that it is broken and I believe this is the same thing ?

[LLVMdev] Getting started using MinGW binary release?
Finally, I got my hands on Windows machine again today. I extracted llvm-2.1-x86-mingw32.tar.bz2 and llvm-gcc4.0-2.1-x86-mingw32.tar.bz2 to C:\llvm (It's a bare Windows Vista installation without MinGW) Added C:\llvm\bin;C:\llvm\libexec\gcc\i686-pc-mingw32\4.0.1 to PATH (C:\llvm\libexec\gcc\i686-pc-mingw32\4.0.1 was added for cc1.exe) Downloaded

[LLVMdev] Possibly Vista-related Windows/MinGW Compilation Issues
Hello, Jonathan > I thought I'd messed up something related to the linker, > but I couldn't explain why XP would work using the same steps. The only thing comes to my mind seeing this: perl from msysDTK works differently (somehow) on Vista, thus llvm-config is broken which leads to missed libraries, broken dependencies, etc. I'd suggest you to compare stuff on different
